Swans ratings continue to struggle in Sydney..

Post by Willis 21 »

Gee their ratings must be a disappointment to Ten and the AFL.

Despite a premiership followed by a grand final appearence, they can still only just get over 100,000 a week...

Considering all the money, promotion and advertising getting pumped into the Swans, its obvious the people don't care...

Compare their ratings to the SOO in Melbourne where more than three times as many people watched a match which the people of Melb have no direct involvement in...

Make the most of this TV deal AFL, there is only one way you are heading..

Its not like there is anything else on either to tempt away viewers.... a repeat of Shrek and the woeful Wallabies on channel 7...

The game gets beaten by a REPEAT of Top Gear on SBS, and their old nemesis the Iron Chef is still on their heels....

My thinking is that there are 117,000 more AFL viewers in Sydney than NRL supporters in Melbourne. On another note poor ole Iron Chef struggles doesn't it.

Now Willis you wanna bet that the next AFL broadcasting deal is more than the NRL and again breaks records for Australian sport in terms of the money outlayed?

Oh and as for the State of Origin Rugby League broadcast in Melbourne, the figures were not that great, coming last out of the commercial networks and now game 2 has been slotted into the 10:40pm timeslot - after an AFL legends match. This from the home of Rugby League, Channel 9. Go figure eh?

I'm betting that Melbourne still get more than 117,000 for their delayed telecast of the SOO... you want to take that bet...

And the Swans actually come dead last at times of their coverage... :lol

Channel 10 must be the biggest idiots in Australian TV history to continue to be forced into showing such a poor rating show in prime time...

Also, the Swans ratings are on the back of years of coverage and goods on field results.. Why does the AFL persist in flogging a dead horse?? :?

The people are not interested...

If they weren't interested the SCG wouldn't have sold out on Saturday night, Willis.

Sydney's a strange lot when it comes to TV. They've never embraced AFL no matter what. Don't forget that AFL is essentially NOT a TV game, whereas the NRL is.

I'd like to see the ratings when the Swans are playing elsewhere.
Wait a minute....isn't half of the SCG rubble?
