I have merely published a database.
You can glean some implications already.
The post is about countries that play Australian Football.
With more information we can make determinations as to what level football is played.
That question is difficult to determine just by looking at some stats.
e.g. Australian Football is played widespread in PNG but the PNG struggles to overcome Ireland which is tiny in comparison.
or there is a pathway from the PNG to Australia with many PNG players in Australia but Ireland is the country that has supplied AFL level draftees.

I played in Europe a few years ago so I know the scene. There was no scene. Just expats getting together for a run in the park. In front of crowds ranging between 5 and 10 individuals.

One country I can see AFL getting huge is Ireland. They seem to have a healthy amateur league.

Apologies for couple of months slight bump but,

AFL in Italy? lol'ed, I'm a AFL fan, but you have to be joking right? I lived in Italy for nearly 8 months and their aren't anything involving it.

Where you getting your sources? Prob two aussie blokes on holiday in Italy, decide to bring a footy and kick it around on an Italian soccer pitch and decide to call it AFLI after a night on the piss.

This is almost as bad as the Italian rugby league team which played in a couple of those small rugby league tournys, which the line up consist of mainly Australian Italians who play NRL or super league, who decide to play for Italy as they are not good enough to play for Australia.
