I agree they are struggling in that region, but try to keep up to date.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

That’s an amazing crowd at the G. Is it another sellout in Sydney ? What about Brisbane ?
Appears to be the “tickets exhausted” sign is up at the Gabba.
Found this article interesting where they ask if you’re a member with a reserved seat and can’t attend that you pass on your ticket to someone else.

Union is pretty much relegated to a third tier sport in Australia - don’t see it coming back. Aussie rules has slotted nicely into their old market in nsw and qld.

Re: Footy Crowds - 2024
I think the old rivalary between Union and rl still exists for some - you have to remember that in Victoria it is/“” Aussie rules for the main - there isn’t this distinction between classes and what sport you play - cause rl and Union don’t have a history there of “which is better” etc - so any ex pats in Sydney from Melbourne could be from any class.
Given that any stat is explained away as irrelevant (like trump refusing to accept he lost) could I ask - and I do so seriously - is there any stat, figure, or evidence that would suggest to you that the afl is doing well. For instance, what would be a rating figure in Brisbane or Sydney that you would say was reasonable or good? Seriously curious.

your sport is run by old boy tossers from mongbournes private schools buddy ..the same mob who tried ... tried to run football in NSW & QLD .. then real people came along & saidFred wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 4:46 pmI think the old rivalary between Union and rl still exists for some - you have to remember that in Victoria it is/“” Aussie rules for the main - there isn’t this distinction between classes and what sport you play - cause rl and Union don’t have a history there of “which is better” etc - so any ex pats in Sydney from Melbourne could be from any class.

The afl doing well ( in NSW & QLD) is a narative pushed by the governing body with misleading & misrepresenting information , & its lapped up by the codes deluded fans
so you're just a lap dog , regurgitating their crap
The TV ratings today with no NRL on atm , the 1st game finished at 4.45 & there is 45 minutes of completely clean air til the next
so
you'd think 300K should be watching right now ( about the ratings for a very low ranking NRL game in Sydney ) , even thats only 6% of the cities population & easily achievable if the fumbles & bumbles is doing as well as you say it is
