the second graph is helpful but not definitive. If profit was solely the motive of the AFL, theyd distribute less. Operational profit for the AFL is still higher than anyone else by miles.
when 15 of your 18 clubs are money sucking crap fests
ofc you'll need to distribute more

the NRL has no such problems
got NFI idea and wrong like usual!

the some NRL clubs are on life support rom the tax layer as the code is to povo to run them!
17 financial powerhouses in the NRL, 2 more being created

15 financial basket cases in stea....dyeddie....ball ......

the NRL is comfortably tabling Distributions to clubs
Salary Cap and 30% on top at around $16million to clubs and growing each year
with no dramas and issues.

in 2 years time this will be over $320million to the 19 Clubs per year

Operational profit for a business is good Sooks. Comprehensive profit is gooderer. Business economics 101 pal.

Not necessarily as the non profit governing body of a sport. Not making a loss is great. Anything else is a bonus. Australian Sports economics 101.

Not necessarily. If two like bodies fund everything they want/need the one with the greater comprehensive profit has had the better year. It is of course subjective as to what the wants/needs/aspirations may be. And I'm pretty sure what side of the ledger you would come down on lolololol!!!

Have a great night sooks.

Theres a reason most clubs/leagues report operational profit instead of comprehensive income, but theres no point getting into nuances here.

This is a good reminder to never get financial advice from anyone named Wackjob. You know it makes sense.
