Alex Mckinnon

Post by texas jack »

I'm not a Newcastle Knights supporter, but I feel for Alex McKinnon. I hope he has a speedy recovery from what sounds like a horrific injury. Good luck Alex & I hope you can make it back to playing again.....

Yeah, they're saying up to two years for a recovery. The good thing is they are are talking recovery. Looking at the tackle he looked to tuck his head in just before he hit the ground. Reflex I guess your taught to try and roll when you hit the ground. In this instance not the right thing to do.

Not good! Can someone tell me why a dangerous tackle is only dangerous if someone gets injured??? Saw on NRL 360 plenty of similar tackles that players got away with!

They could get rid of the three man tackle. Otherwise it wasn't really a dangerous tackle imo but an unfortunate and very very rare accident.

An accident. That's exactly what it was. And it has happened in the AFL also, or rather the VFL as it was. The man's name was Neil Sachse. A former Bulldog.

Changing the rules won't alter the atmosphere where accidents can happen. I'm sure Alex McKinnon will not want the game to be changed just because of what happened to him.
