Think Perth would be pointless re: another team . Not sure what the benefit would be. They are more prohical than Victorians with their footy - but if the philosophy is to put a team into Aussie Rules heartland then I guess why not - but if the plan is to grow the game Canberra is the obvious choice given the solid base there and room to grow the game more - otherwise I think going into somewhere where the game needs to grow is the go.
agreed if i were they AFL and they were staying at 20 teams for the long future

i would be backing Canberra
N.T is a pipe dream it is just not viable.

ACT as a whole is growing and would be a great asset to have and be represented

NT

you're going there are you ?

7,036 tuned up to watch the fumbles & bumbles last night

7,036 on a fine warm night ..

11,094 turned up for the NRL a month ago
more then 50% more

why

because Darwin is an NRL town these days

but by all means
locate another team to a city we're youre a distant 2nd at best behind the NRL
Sydney
Brisbane
Gold Coast
Canberra

I am yet to see anywhere or hear anyone (from NYT) stats rl is the major code in Darwin. Happy to be given a link however to read that does.

Regardless - I don’t think it is a viable. Canberra - as Aussie rules has a strong presence and room to grow but still - they would need to get gws out of there.

the eels have outdrawn just about every afl crowd in darwin in the 9 years they've been going there
Darwin is an NRL town now
too small for both codes

Canberras support for the drops n giggles is well.... unimpressive.. at best , ex pats & fumbleball folk from the riverina only
The Raiders run our capital city
again as a market its too small & has too many established teams to be viable

the fumbling game i think is starting to realise its enormous limitations & how little its expansion program that started in 1982 has progressed the sport outside its traditional markets
Sydney swans? Most popular club in NSW.
Qld lions 2nd or 3rd most popular football club in Qld.
Suns doing ok in a territory where most sports fail.
NRL expansion club, Storm, done well, but really the NRL’s equivalent of the Giants.
Don't know why you keep pushing this crap, Azif you know what you are talking about.
Bombing the truth.
The Swans aren't the most popular in NSW. The NSW Blues are.way ahead of the Swans, much higher ratings, and far bigger crowd attendances as well as much more media coverage.

Ratings….maybe, they don’t seem to be too happy with it.
Media Coverage….maybe don't get the Sydney papers or TV.
Crowds….absolutely no possible way. The blues attendances are so low they wont even publish most of them, 14,681 at Leichhardt the only one reported. The swans average for this year 38,928 and will only go up. How is that “far bigger crowd attendances.”.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

A few points.

1. I was wrong..I confused the waratahs with the blues…you all look the same to me.
2. The Homebush average is 73,836, still very good.
3 The State of Origin Sydney Game average is 59,469
4. SCG average was 32,131.
5. Pre Homebush average 35,756.
6. From 1982 average is 59,469.
7. Comparing a state representative side against a club based team smells of desperation.
8. Show me the NSW NRL based clubs figures.

I await your usual abuse.

The Swines get 38K to the ground In Sydney , & maybe another 50K watching on TV in Sydney ( FTA & STV combined )
The NRL teams ( 10 of them ) in NSW average atm is
20K & they're watching on Average STV & FTA combined by about another 400K

Swines come in 11th in NSW

But I will say that Sydney NRL fans do go to some games…just not the club games.

well ofc there are no shits & giggles rep teams , firstly ... there isn't another race on the planet that would bother with that bumbling monstrosity
&
only the biggest packs of mongs on that same planet aka.. fumblers.. would think representing a few petrol stations , a maccas & a day care centre would be a bigger honor then representing your state      :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

Sydney NRL fans are up & about these days
this years attendances are at record levels despite the weather being as bad as it was in 2022 .... so far a years worth of rain in 6 months
all clubs selling games out regularly

& for the fumblers in Sydney we have ... the midgets ... crowds of 4000 regularly
