I think if they thought something else would rate better they would put it on so I think it is a significant thing when it is played on the main channel - and also the after game stuff as well.
yes they have done it in the pass, they do this with Sydney Swans to.
and it is generally at different times throughout the year

Not too bas for Brisbane - but could be better given the main channel, prime time, stand alone etc. Perth is disappointing.

Channel 9 broadcast the U19 State of Origin in Sydney and Brisbane last night. Apparently didn’t rate well, like the disappointing Lions who were well beaten by Melbourne after quarter time last night in the AFL.

"One in every 24 Australians is now a member of an AFL club, a sign that the national reach of Australian football has never been greater," League CEO Gillon McLachlan said.

were crying from the hilltops how the wions were regularly outrating the NRL in Brisbane ( non broncos games )
those numbers were over the 60K mark consistently

last night up against nothing & on top of the comp they got
41K

No they werent. It was true early on, but the season average for the Lions ended up at 59k for the season.

There was literally one article that where the Lions beat the NRL one night, it wasnt an ongoing thing.

i would not even expect a Under 19's match to rate well on 9GEM)
