Lol
Low scoring is from tough defence
Not because they are too unco or don't know the game cause they were poached from another sport by the afl .

There's a massive difference in brilliant defence & total inability to pick up a ball or kick it straight .

I'll give you one unco point for trying

Yesterdays female fumbling rated 54k & 81k for a total of 135k. Last years 3rd round rated about 450k. There is 2 more games today - if they rate similar the disastrous drop will continue.

Now the crowds: Fair dinkum.........what can ya say?? The AFL are just bald faced liars!!!! It's not even worth mentioning the numbers they're so ridiculous. They've returned to round figure BS that no one is buying......why they even try beats me!!!

No AFLW FTA games this week by my knowledge because of AFLX lol and we know how good that went.

I'm sure I saw one game advertised as being on seven and Fox but can't find any FTA ratings numbers. Last year FTA R3 rated 265k for total of 460k. So far we've only got 197k for R3 this year. That is a total collapse. I suspect the FTA number was so low this year they weren't game to put it out.

Just found it. Three games were on 7mate but only one was national. The ratings must have been so low they didn't even register lololololololololol.

Whoosh .
No you miss the point entirely .
This is a proper women's competition...so we are told.
The bullshit that was sprouted about HOW BIG it was & how it would grow blah blah
How last year the carry on was as if the afl had invented women's sport .

Now reality has hit home ...suddenly its only a pre season comp.

FMD you guys are morons. It's in its second season. How long did it take the storm to get a consistently reasonable, or the swans in Sydney? People with brains dont judge a concepts success mid way through the second season.

The AFLW is a long term. AFLX, if they persist with it, is long term.

As the fumbling folk here have vacated the premises I thought I would do their job and start a thread about this years AFLW season.

The big questions for the 2nd year are: what will the TV ratings be? What will the crowds be? What will the standard of play be? Will folk outside Melbourne and the desert states even care? Will the hype continue?

From what I can see the interest, marketing & promotion is no where near the level of last years hysteria. No doubt tonights first game and the game in Perth will get good crowds & ratings but it is the rest of the season that will tell the story. Last year ratings halved week on week until bottoming out about round 4. This year I suspect they will bottom out earlier.

The big question for me will be the standard of play. Any honest assesment of last years play would would show it to be rubbish. It simply does not compare, skillwise, to the ladies soccer, RL, 7's Rugby & cricket we have seen in the last year. This is where they really need to improve.

I will post some metrics of the weekends games to keep our fumbling folk happy.
