Byron Pickett was used as a scapegoat

Post by Grim Reaper »

Holy Allah!

What is it with these VFL sissys when a true Aboriginal Warrior such as Byron Pickett is shafted for 6 weeks. The little pussy from the Adelaide Clowns is lucky to be alive if Byron was really going after him.

I am afraid this great game is being destroyed by VFL losers and we are going down the smae path at the NRL. Some Victorian footballers of days gone by have come to Bryon's defence. David Rhys-Jones has said that our game is to lame...for once I have to fully agree with a Victorian.

Maybe the AFL has to 'bring back the biff' as well....or else we are doomed and that makes Grim very very angry!

That's the new AFL Tribunal for ya Grim. One wonders if the AFL was just setting an example of things to come with the new Tribunal and rule changes starting this season.

Ther's no boubt about it Aussie rule has become a much much softer game these days, and the sport is the poorer for it.
A second team in Sydney :
Good for the Swans-Good for Football- Good for Sydney!

Not softer - but like any sport it is under more video scrutiny and challenged by perceptions of the general public. It's about winning the hearts and minds when the players are juniors and no mother wants to see her son belted, so every time an incident like this comes up they have to come down like a ton of bricks!

It certainly is all about the image of the game. Whilst I like to see a bit of biff, it doesn't encourage parents to get their kids involved. Sad but harsh reality these days.
