After Carltons thrashing of the Swans today I'd have to go with Richmond V Melbourne Beaussie.

Fr*ggin adelaide! Looked like scoring a tip and they blew it!
Beau how come the 3 of us on top of the AFL tipping ladder have the same wins but the guy with the lowest % is on top? Or doesnt it matter much during the season?

Tell me about it kaskill. I saw the score in the first quarter and thought, gee, this is going to be a blowout with the Crows thrashing the Bombers. Couldn't believe the final result and comeback from the Bombers.

As for the tipping, when scores are level, the rank is based on who has been a member longer. Looking at the ladder you can see that Aceup1111 has had more correct tips than you and dogmaniac hence the better percentage. You are all equal though because both yourself and dogmaniac have tipped better when it comes to the bonus point games. The ranking therefore when points are equal is based on who has been a member longer. At the end of the seasons, if scores are still tied, a countback will need to occur. Hopefully the following explains it better for you.
Determination of Winners

If at the end of the tipping competition two (2) or more tippers have the same amount of points a count back will occur. A count back will rank tippers according to the frequency with which they selected the most winning teams in a round over the 22 rounds plus finals of the AFL season and over the 26 rounds plus finals of the NRL season.

An elimination process based solely on that count back will occur. The count back will firstly identify the tipper(s) who most frequently tipped 8 winning teams from 8, then 7 winning teams from 8 , then 6 winning teams from 8 and so on (down to and including 1 winning team from 8 if required) until tippers are determined to be ranked higher than all of the others. All entries taken up in the calculation will be based on a total of 8 matches in a round regardless of whether 8 teams were selected by the tipper. If this fails to rank the tippers for the three prizes on offer in each competition, each tipper will be entered into a draw. The order each tipper is drawn is where they will be ranked accordingly. This outcome of this will be final and no further correspondence will occur.

Congratulations to all tippers in the AFL Tipping Competition in 2011. The dreaded countback looks like it needs to occur to determine the Top 3. Give me some time please. Haven't been feeling well of late. Stay tuned.

Cheers KE and Cheers Beau for taking the time to run the tipping comps.
Another 10 poster scores some prize money in the AFL aswell causing Kings skin to crawl! Haha
Thems the rules though KE and the only problem is, if beaussie puts the minimum post upto say 50 we're going to have the forums flooded with 50 one word posts instead of 10!

Hmm not a bad point there Kaskill. Perhaps MarkZZZ's idea of having someone contributing for a few months would be the option. Or perhaps Beaussie just acknowledges all the real posters and just has us in the friggin comp, along with any newcomers who contribute. It will need to be put up for discussion.
