Country?? where.....

Post by Scorger Man » Sat May 15, 2010 7:26 pm

Will it get to a point where they will bring in grandparent rules in regards to being able to represent Country in the City v Country matches??

"my gandmother grew up in the country, do I qualify??"

Gone are the days where country players from the various country Group comps get a crack at playing in the game.

I'm sure there must be at least be one country group player that would make the cut but choose to live a normal life and not the hollywood life style of the NRL...

Hmmm Yes I agree scorger. It's pretty disappointing. I guess that's professionalism and its many downfalls for ya.

I didnt see how they qualified as country but know the nrl scouts are out there in the country poaching talent and bringing them into the big smoke at the age of 14 or 15, maybe even younger...

It doesnt really have the same vibe anymore. Perhaps they should redefine it and make it an under 22's matchup where real country lads who stay in the country get a chance to smash some of the young city slicker gym junky leaguies?
