Football Australia in crisis after record $15 million loss sparks mass redundancies

Football Australia’s financial records reveal a shocking $15.34 million loss almost double what was posted the previous year.

The record loss comes on the back of the $8.5 million loss for the 2024 financial year (which runs from January to December for FA).

Meaning the black hole has reached $23.84 million in the two years since hosting the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

thats the ownership ship structure of the A league teams showing some very wealthy backers behind them. the governing body of football Australia must own anything except a few office leases so its in need of a large bail out from some one

Auckland FC: Owned by American billionaire Bill Foley (Black Knight Football and Entertainment), who also owns Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.
Adelaide United: Majority-owned and directed by Dutch businessman Cor Adriaanse.
Brisbane Roar: 100% owned by the Indonesian industrial conglomerate, the Bakrie Group.
Central Coast Mariners: Majority-owned by Canberra-based fitness businessman Richard Peil, with former owner Michael Charlesworth retaining a minority stake.
Macarthur FC: Privately owned by a local consortium featuring businessmen Gino Marra, Sam Krslovic, Roy Mammone, and Michael Gerace.

yeah wow a 15mill lost for a very cheaply run tournament>> which FFA makes the owners pay and fund the clubs
that is alot of money when you consider they halved the salary cap also..

not wonder they want to bring in more teams and hopefully get some big coin added
