so
the big broom & the even bigger carpet is well & truly in use at the afl atm but.....
this isn't going away
I touched on the subject & Mcguire is right here
The afl has a responsibility, a duty of care , when they take young people into their system to play their sport professionally ,
that responsibility includes them sigining a document specifically spelling out that the use of drugs , recreational & of course performance enhancing are strictly forbidden,
Now they & they alone 19 years ago came up with this utterly ridiculous , key stone cops 3 strike rule that no other spot on the planet would even consider & they were told over & over that it would lead to problems for them
& here we are ..
Their soft cock approach to protecting the identity of players using drugs with the player requiring 3 positive tests in match conditions to be publicly named
Then , then circumventing & bypassing their own ridiculous policy by having a covert system for over 100 of their players using dugs regularly & syphoning them away to be secretly tested to see if they would fail a match day test , & if they couldn't ... lie to the public , fake an injury & not play til they were clean
has blown up in their faces
this is disgusting behaviour
Rather then admit its sport has a serious, its quite frankly alarming .. issue with drug use & the ramifications of that admission , it is quite happy to sacrifice these you men & women & hide the issue instead.
There would be no more sobering reality for these young people to understand that you have a choice , either you play the afl ... or you take drugs
you do not do both !!
Other sports with a backbone , like the NRL for eg .. do not tolerate its players taking any type of drugs including recreational drugs.
If the AFL was serious about these young people & cared out them , rather then just its own image ...
it would be strong & very clear about this issue.
Most of these players would choose to play the sport & as a result be fair dinkum about kicking their drug habit.
the AFLs attitude here is contributing to this issue , not solving it .... they can't say they weren't warned

Re: former president of WADA slams AFL an unclean sport
Many AFL commentators including former player and coach Mick Malthouse were angered shocked and appauled by some of these revelations.
There is a lot of heavyweights within the AFL industry that are demanding a new tougher drugs policy and for cheats to be named and be accountable .
AFL will announce new policy thus year but need to ignore the AFL players association .
AFL players association can no longer protect and hide drug cheats but they will try and influence the AFL to water down any new tough policy.
Hopefully this issue is addressed and cleaned up soon.

Re: former president of WADA slams AFL an unclean sport
So we now find out 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive to a banned drug before the Tokyo olympics. They were tested by Chinese authorities not WADA and withdrawn from competition. Sounds familiar doesn't it!!!
It seems the AFL is in line with Chinese Communist Party drug testing regimes. You know - hide, lie, cover up, obfuscate and deny. And then when found out continue the lies and make the story disappear. Because you know, brand protection.
Congratulations to the AFL!! You now stand side by side with an undemocratic, authoritarian, lying, deceiving, jackboot government. Sounds pretty much how fumble house operates!!! Very appropriate I'd say. Well done fumblers. Well done to the Big Dill.
What a sport!!!!!!

Re: former president of WADA slams AFL an unclean sport
Cocaine found in the system of a player on game day is classed as performance enhancing Fred. So the Chinese and the AFL did EXACTLY the same thing. Tested players/swimmers before a game/swim and withdrew them when they tested positive.Fred wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 6:44 pmTerry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 8:51 amSo we now find out 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive to a banned drug before the Tokyo olympics. So the Chinese Politburo operate exactly the same way Fumblehouse does. Not a thing to be proud of I would think!!
