The future of the NRLW competition is in serious doubt after two of the four competing clubs pulled the pin on their respective seasons.
The Warriors are the other club believed to have told League Central they will not take part in the upcoming season if it does go ahead in September.

The revelation is a major blow for the women's game, which has grown in leaps and bounds in the last two years.

Just last month it was announced 20 women would be contracted by the NRL so they could compete with the money on offer in cricket, AFLW and rugby sevens.
"The contracts have been awarded based on performance and commitment over the past 12 months as part of the women's elite programs," the NRL said at the time. "The women's marquee contracting system was developed in conjunction with the RLPA in 2019 and is similar to Cricket Australia's model with the intention to provide further incentives for players to develop their skill and remain in the game."

Those players may now be forced to look elsewhere for opportunities at the elite level, as two teams will not be enough to prop up the competition this year.

It's highly unlikely other clubs will seek to get involved in the competition, too, given the costs associated with kick-starting a women's team in the biggest financial crisis rugby league has ever faced.

It's unclear whether women's State of Origin will proceed, either. That match has become arguably the biggest game on the women's calendar and was played in front of a healthy crowd at North Sydney Oval in 2019.

The blow to the elite level of women's rugby league comes just days after the National Championships were cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The six-day tournament in May is typically the best chance for NRLW clubs to pluck emerging talent to feature in the premiership later in the year.

NSW Women's State of Origin coach Andrew Patmore told NRL.com last week he was concerned for the future of NRLW.

"We're all very realistic about it and understanding how the business works," Patmore said. "With the NRLW, the clubs fund a lot of that. I've got concerns over that. The commercial side runs our game and pays our bills."

now as your doing in several other threads, telling every one to stick to the topic

so would you kindly do so :)))

as ive made this thread directly about 2 teams being dropped from the NRLOLW not to discuss vs AFLW

its hilarious how a code that you pumped up that is was going to be a success and huge, has lost two teams already! I mean it only has two teams remaining

a more funny out come couldn't have happened to have shown up how pathetic league is again and what a pack of arse clowns the league community is :(/

I think that the more avenues there are for people and especially kids to be active the better. Having girls and women now being able to access sports in a meaningful way is a good thing and any reduction in this, whatever the code, is a sad thing. I have no idea what women’s nrl looks like at grassroots but don’t hear too much about it however a healthy competition at nrlw level is a necessary thing to help build this regardless od it’s current state.

its near non existent! if there was some traction or even remotely popular with the woman youd hear about it

RL raided the touch comps years ago to boost player numbers so would be interesting to see the numbers for woman playing contact or non contact

Roosters Pull out of WNRL in 2020 due to be played in September.
Warriors have also stated they are pulling out..

Also doubt remains for Womens Origin this year.

All sports are up in the air about when or if they can play.
So how' the fuck can you ask how you think a season will go .
No one knows how long the men's comps will be off for yet you want to know about a comp six months away .
You're the Dumbest fuck God ever punched an arsehole into
