AFL v RL which code has gotten the most GOVT $$$$?

The claim is repeatedly made across multiple threads that Rl has leached far more money off the Taxpayers than the AFL .
It's been shown many times before how false this is, yet the endless repetitive chant continues .
So in here we can show excatly what each code has got from GOVTs .

RLs 4 latest stadiums .have been
COwboys 290 mill
Parra ....369 mill
AAMI.....268 mill
Cbus.....160 mill

Before that it was Suncorp 280.

Lol these 5 are still well behind the latest one yes one afl new stadium .
1.6 billion for Perth .

& this thread has nothing to do with other sports utilising stadia .
Or crowds .or anything but how much the GOVT has given each sport .
Even though ANZ was built for the Olympics I'm sure that it will be added to the RL total .
It cost 690 & had a refurb in 2003 for 80 mill .

I'll add some AFL govt $$$ later .
SCG
Metricon
Gabba
MCG upgrades
Adelaide
Spot the fan stadium .

So feel free to add some facts ..that counts you out LIC ..
You & facts don't reside in the same world

Mcg is a international multi purpose venue that hosts every from soccer, rugby’s union and league, concerts, cricket, at etc

Scg similar
Adelaide oval is similar hosts all sports including adl but Adelaides first new venue since the 70s and cities only
Venue
Same as Perth’s new stadium
Metricon hosts the suns, cricket and commonwealth games

None of these grounds are exclusive to the afl yet afl teams use the venue regularly

New Townsville stadium is next to exclusivity for the cowboys
New parramatta stadium is mainly for wanderers and eels
Cbus stadium is next to exclusive for the titans who exclusively designed the venue

All nrlol club grounds

You have nfi crap bot except just jealously

Could you post what each code has contributed to each ground.

And the other thing you have to remember is the revenue afl generates through actual crowds turning up.

And my point proven!
You try to claim the afl got money to build stadiums in Adelaide and perth!
It was Perth’s first new stadium since early 1900s and Adelaides first stadium since the 70s

They are the states only main international venues
Those states are entitled to that!

How’s all those club home grounds for the nrl clubs that the tax payer has to pay for!

What other code has that?

Here comes the but but buts .
& the deflection .
You got caught out lying again .
Show where as you claimed that the TITANS exclusively designed Cbus stadium .
Off ya go .
Lol

& in the opening post I wrote
& this thread has nothing to do with other sports utilising stadia .
Or crowds .or anything but how much the GOVT has given each sport .

& what do we get
Yep excatly that .

That’s convenient for you to stipulate the criteria excluding multi function venues.

The point remains... how many projects did the afl put money into... so a joint project? And how many have the nrl contributed? That’s important I think. You ignore this because you know the afl do contribute. Maybe start by comparing CBUS and Metricon as a like for like.

The second point is revenue. Of the stadiums the afl use how much revenue does the afl bring to that stadium by drawing big crowds? Surely that is a factor if the venue is drawing money into its coffers from the afl.

Very good points Freddo. The AFL do indeed in some instances put a small fraction of the total cost into some infrastructure. You now need to add up all the AFL money put into these projects. Then subtract that amount from the total cost. That'll give us something akin to a net gov't dollar amount put in.

Once you do that you will once again find the AFL has by far the biggest snout in the gov't trough in this great land of ours.

I await your numbers pal. Maybe lets go back to 1990 as a starting point as a stadium's life seems to be about 30 years.

1) Money given to stadiums isnt given to a sport
2) Adelaide Oval and Optus Stadium both replaced venues built in the 70s and were scheduled for major upgrades or rebuilds.
3) Almost every single one of these stadiums is used by Cricket for half the year, but apparently the money doesnt go to them in your book.
4) Each and every one of Adelaide, Perth and the MCG are heavily relied on by state governments as tourist draw cards and state promotional vehicles. Like hosting internationsl soccer friendlies, union tests and Origin.
5) The AFL contributed to Metricon, the showgrounds, and Adelaide, and pays an annual sum to the MCC for finance, above and beyond rental costs.
6) MCG upgrade costs to Government have been in the order of about 140m for a stadium mostly funded by the MCC and its AFL contract. This has been true since the 1988 rebuild.
1.neither is it for most rectangular stadia ....they are multi sport ...& concerts ..& other events such as boxing or part of Comm games .

2.Same for Suncorp
Parra in the 80s ..cowboys stadium ...Melb had a venue built a long time ago .
See two can play this game .
3...most new stadia are used by Soccer in the Rugby League off season ...aami..Suncorp .parra ..cbus was till team folded .
4.same for some rectangular stadia
Suncorp hosts RU tests ..World title fight in boxing ....cbus when opened had a RUWC game ..had the RU 7s.
Cowboys stadium was opened with an Elton John concert ..these are included as tourist draw cards ..
5 it's not about the contribution of a sporting code .
You are ignoring what this thread is about .
It's Govt money .
When it is repeated in thread after thread that RL is the biggest leach ..has got more $$ out of GOVTs then some facts about which sport has got the most need to be posted .
All other crap is meaningless ...as most stadia are multi sport or are used for other entertainment
Feel free to subtract what the afl contributed to these stadia ...
The simple fact is contrary to what is posted ..afl stadia has received far more off the govt .
This thread wouldn't exist if the bullshit was stopped .

6. So the govt only contributed 140 mill since 88
Where did the other come from for the 460 mill upgrade in 92

im sure Perth and Adelade are allowed to have at least one major international sporting venue in their cities

I mean wit the new parameter stadium Sydney now has 4 stadiums built in the past 30 years the nrl uses 4 of those including the SCG for some reason so look at all those billions the NRL got!

this isn't even including those club grounds or training venues that us tax payers have to pay for
