I would think they would sought out this season re: discount for less games but the remaining years to remain the same .... or more if renegotiated. Otherwise I’d be just keeping it is until rights fir next deal come up .

Re: COVID-19 Affects it will have on Australian footy codes
The AFL's polo playing little rich boy Gilty McLa$hlan has been told to pull his boof head in and drop the superiority complex!!!!! He's apparently struggling with the effects of the Corona Virus on his bumbling code.
Reports are that he's getting very cwanky with broadcasters because they won't give him what he wants. He's now having flashbacks of throwing rattles out of his mama's Mercedes and spitting gold dummies at a dozen a day!!! Poor diddums!!! The blokes got a brother named Banjo.......yep Banjo... so we shouldn't be surprised lololololol!!!!!!
He's being told to act more like the NRL's head honcho Peter The Great. Great advice!!! In fact I would advise all AFL folk to pull their collective heads in and drop the superiority complex. It is neither wanted or warranted.

Re: COVID-19 Affects it will have on Australian footy codes
I came across this beautifully articulated article below from the Herald Sun yesterday. "The NRL has schooled the AFL in TV broadcast talks".
Here's a quote: "If onlookers were in any doubt the AFL had been schooled by the rival NRL during the COVID-19 crisis, this week’s TV announcement should put it to rest." Yep. Peter The Great's done it again!!!!
Great reading folks. Take a peek!!!!

Fire wall Terry.
Anyway... is this one journalists opinion ? Could you post why he or she thinks this is the case. I thought the valid point was made that the fox nrl deal had not been announced?
Anyway... whilst the afl may have got a great Fta deal .... fix bit getting an extension again throws another factor into the mix. Will it depend on the deal that is made (if) for pay after 2022? Will the afl get a higher bidder? Or was it smart to lock in fox for the extended deal given the way subscription tv is going.
In saying that. Big fan of V’landys so wouldn’t be surprised if he pulls a rabbit out somewhere.... suspecting he has something up his sleeve. Although... all his talk and effort trying to replace the Melbourne spring carnival as the countries elite racing even calender did not much more than a fire cracker.... lots of noise but little in roads.
Watch this space. I’m thinking V’landys will have the last play on this one.

Re: COVID-19 Affects it will have on Australian footy codes
interesting how everything is starting to unfold.
I dont think both codes are standing to lose as much as they thought 3 months ago.
especially the AFL
high number of Members are staying with clubs = huge revenue.
and stadiums slowly opening..

Re: COVID-19 Affects it will have on Australian footy codes
I think the game is postponed. I read he had been in Ireland and quarantined and was tested daily with several negative tests. Then after this allowed to resume limited training with restrictions also eased. Apparently the belief is he caught it locally not in Ireland. Guess more to come. But yes, what does this all mean... how will it unfold? Watch this space.

McLachlan said McKenna had previously returned five negative tests, including one on Wednesday, and that all other players and staff at the club tested negative on Friday night.

Re: COVID-19 Affects it will have on Australian footy codes
They are looking into whether he broke the Covid isolation rules.
And entrenched racism ... abodultely full of shit and you should be ashamed in trying to score points in a piss poor code war crap you and crapper are entrenched in by using race as bait. It’s a serious issue not one to be trivialised.
I know for you, like me, this place and nrl v afl is a bit of fun, but you bloody well know for AFLcrap it is his life ... ige can’t help it and for to take advantage of him like you do is not very nice to exploit him like you do. It’s actually very cruel.
