5 million doesn’t seem that much - that’s only 1.25 mil a year?? How does this compare to afl clubs?

The Dolphins have now confirmed they have signed with outdoor accessories company Adventure Kings as their principal sponsor.

Doesn't seem much - although Suns are only getting 1 mil a year for Covermore. What would Adelaide be asking for a principle sponsor - I think Toyota was their first major sponsor - called the Camry Crows - what was that worth all those years ago?

Freddy,

the Dolphins as a football division with there asset base, are worth more than

St Kilda
Kangaroos.
Port Adelaide
SUNS

combined.

1 sponsor is one little piece to the puzzle.

they will get bigger once they enter the NRL.

The dolphins with their asset base would be worth more than the majority of any 4 NRL clubs combined.
Penrith would be the closest single club with a valuation of around $46 mill. They are a long way ahead of the current Broncos valuation and some of the Broncos valuation is based on Brand Good Will.

Dolphins could well be a financial powerhouse, be interesting to see how long it takes for them to be successful on the field.

Just need a “location” identifier name…East Coast Dolphins? …Bramby Bay? Back to Redcliffe? Morton Bay Dolphins?
Any other reasonable suggestions….North Brisbane may be off the table.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

Oh no doubting that - They will or should be huge I think. Southport sharks are in a similar position and were considered for the Suns license - but they wanted a stand alone team - they have a massive financial reserve I believe - mainly due to their large gaming complex.

AFL should of went with Southport Sharks. it is a nice establishment
(was the wrong move not too) though AFL would never admit to that.

Yeah… the Sun”s just can’t seem to take a trick. I’m starting to wonder if they have now missed the boat as a team…. Really needed a finals appearance last year I felt. I think now they’ll need at least 2 or 3 seasons as a top team to get the region behind them. Then for how long ???

i do not think they have missed the boat, the funds are still being pumped into the region by the AFL.
winning and keeping a squad together is key, the niche fans will return..

If the AFL stopped pumping money into the joint you would have the troubles..
but as long as this happens they have that chance to get traction, just like the LIONS have had..

I Live on the Gold Coast, you could almost certainly say the SUNS media coverage has fallen to non existent levels.

If Titans do end up having a few big years this will really hurt the Suns.

Live on the GC too and it has certainly tamed a lot. Whilst Aussie Rules does have a large following and large playing numbers I think the Suns as a team are really trying the patience. I don’t think it’s competition between Suns and Titans… most people who follow the code of choice have them as their second team or local team but generally have an established club already. Winners are griners and that always help. If this season sucks for Suns then Dew is out and I suspect Clarkson in on a massive pay deal to good to refuse.
