I’d say maybe that was true in Sydney and qld but afl covers all those demographics in the rest of Australia as it’s the only real winter sport of choice .
So Victoria isn't part of the rest of Australia where Victorians have the Melbourne Storm & Melbourne Rebels to watch in winter?

Your such a clever boy Fred, with your fake news analysis. =D
They also have numerous other minor sports ... and in thru I refer all states not qld and nsw. The fact is people don’t grow up with those sports .... I’m not trying to be smart ... I’m just saying it’s not really in schools, not played at any significant level at grassroots. So for the vast majority it may have the “sport I watch” when not watching afl. Storm do have good niche following and generally accepted in Melbourne ... but what I am saying is that re: people in vic, tassie, wa, sa There is only really one main winter sport and so there is no real class divide across the sport as a whole ... cause there is really just the one sport. Whereas in Sydney and Brisbane you have traditionally had union and league and the class divide there. Now afl is moving in on unions market hence the type of supporter they are associated with... particularly in Sydney. But in afl states they have only just had the one winter sport and therefore you get the broad church across the whole sport... however certain clubs are recognised as working class (port Adelaide, Collingwood) or silver tails (Carlton) with that going back to when teams were associated with the suburb (I think port Adelaide still is) .

So not a dig or troll... just an observation which I think is fair and makes sense.

Maybe to put it another way... GWS have a team in western Sydney but hardly makes them people’s team of choice ... people in western Sydney are traditionally league and watch league ... with soccer having a presence also. You could substitute western Sydney with Victoria, south Australia, tassie etc. and have the same situation .

I don’t think it is nice calling AFLcrap an idiot. He is not an idiot he does very well at researching afl and has a single minded focus on finding out bad things about it. Imagine if his fixation was on something sinister ??? And again, if you are going to get into an argument you only are lowering yourself and usually when you go down that path the person will usually win as they have far more practice at it. I think we should embrace the uniqueness we all bring to the forum as diverse as that is .

Just as an aside ... do you save posts in a data bank or something ? So if someone edits a post you have the original saved? That’s an amazing amount of dedication if you do ....
