Reduce, expand, relocate, certainly has been a bit of press and differing opinions on the future setup of the NRL.

Same thing happened with the AFL a few years back and Fitzroy did get, relocated, taken over, merged, abandoned or closed depending on your point of view. And it was suggested that a couple of others move or merge. Didn’t happen, very unlikely for the AFL any more although expansion is likely.

A totally hypothetical exercise, but if both codes were to start from a greenfield position, how many and where would you place teams for a long term successful organisation.

Don’t start, and switch codes are not acceptable or helpful answers.

NRL CEO Greennerg has come out, and stated No Sydney club will be relocated.

Gould, you would think would have significant knowledge of how the NRL work given his roles in and about the nrl. Let’s face it, he not your average bloke on the street. He has knowledge of the game and it’s administration. So when he says the NRL have little in the way of forward planning then people sit up and listen, particularly when he cites asking various officials over the years. When he says most clubs are basically insolvent then you have to ask what he bases it on. I don’t think it can just be cast aside as one man”s opinion. He is not your average punter on the street. What should be happening is the others asking him what he based that opinion on.... there was no push back and he gave no examples or explained why he felt this to be the case. But he does believe it to be true and he has obviously based this on something .... he knows how clubs work ... so there has to be something to what he says.

Phill Gould has run clubs before!
Going by happenings of nrlol clubs are loosing it faster you could can burn it. Nearly every club regularly runs at a loss and received a band aid fix from the nrlol at the start of the new broadcast deal with more distribution money and are still loosing money!

The eels the nrlolol club it self has lost 26 million over the past 3 years. That’s roughly an nrlolw club annual turn over.

For all the times you give the gws and gcs a hard time over their finances yet ignore with hand over ears and think it’s all rivers of gold

Rising costs, Minnow fan bases, low levels of sponsorship, playing in empty stadiums

How much longer will the clubs owners and nrlol keep throwing in money!

With out broadcast revenue the othe money’s streams are low & how much higher do you think broadcast rights contract money can go
