Lions winning again so they have a crowd. Don't get comfortable - if fans didn't stick around after 3 premierships they never will.
their crowds of the past 15 years have been better than most nrlol crowds.
given its only taken a dozen or so games of winning again after being total basket cases of the past 15 years, its exciting times for lions fans and nervious times for bronco and nrlol fans in brisbane.

brisbane is a bandwagon city at best and we have seen all this with the reds, roar, lions and broncos who have all had their times to shine!
the most successful of them all have been the Broncos, who have an impressive history of only having ever missed the finals a few times since their inception several decades ago! with the influence of news corp behind them as the broncos owners whoring the team out at every opportunity.

there are exciting times ahead for the lions and fans, an exciting future as well as a train station near the gabba as part of the new cross-river city rail that is about to get under way in Brisbane, so for the first time ever a decent public transport hub will be built around the gabba

It might help .
learn reading comprehension. that might help.
Nope
I've had posts moved because you said they were off topic .
Talking lions crowds in mel have nothing to do with their BRIs( thread title ) crowds .
It's just a deflection .

Yes would agree...broncos have huge support. Sure, that will drop off, line any team, when they don’t do as well, but it’s a broncos town by far.

Would bringing in another team diminish this ? Would it favour the lions ?

Would it be fair to say the AFL is the Number 2 code in Queensland like NSW?

no!
the broncos have only missed the finals a few times since their creation and never had any time of being terrible! the other teams codes have, the lions have had 15 years of being a basket case and a few wins are nearing the broncos of crowd levels :)))

better fill that bucket of lemons again crapper and sit down and watch the lions roar :thumbleft:

Average Home and Away since 1997 is
Broncos: 28,843
Lions: 24,369

Not quite a “huge” difference in support over time and the Lions have not been successful for a few years, although not quite the basket case some would say.
Also the lions finals average attendance is 49022 and the broncos is 32521

It appears the lions fans did not fall too far from the bandwagon.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

Let them have a bit of success first, play a final or so and watch the numbers grow! It’s only taken winning a dozen or so games after being crap for 15 years and the crowds flock back! :\:

The newscorp broncos have only missed the finals 3 times since 1991! Hence the consistent fan base

And the crowds are only a few k off :\:

Bandwagon city for all teams including the broncos :)))

Sorry that IS the Home Average
Broncos: 28,843
Lions: 24,369

The away average is well in the lions favour and the Home and Away average is also the lions way, but a fair bit closer.
