I think my point is... as a one off marquee event of course it gets viewers and crowds. My point is rl is nearly as foreign as nfl in Perth and Melbourne etc yet if the nfl played their biggest game there it would get the same if not better figures. And this would be done without an nfl team.

I think you are forgetting that soo is an event. Like a gf, people tune in. It also has the advantage of being a novelty. Look at the weekly ratings for instance.

Comparing fortnightly games to a one of marquee event. Desperate much.
i think he is comparing a rugby league game... yes being Origin football, but a rugby league event
NSW v QLD in Perth rating this high..

If we compare the Swans for example are lucky to get 40k Average in Sydney per game on FTA

If you x that by 22 games = 880k FTA for the entire season.

Perth for example got 407 for 3 games..

Putting the Swans popularity into prospective
Swans play every other week. Play the afl grand final in Sydney and see what happens. What are the best figures for the sswans... say a gf they were in. I guess it may not be as high but higher than their weekly ratings. And the SoO I feel is a whole different thing ... it’s on a different level again.

I’m sure if they played soo every week the rating would be similar :). Comparing two different things completely

In saying that, it’s certainly better than no interest in fact, it couldn’t have been better so defiantly a success.

lets take out that it is a Event and look at it that it is RUGBY LEAGUE>>
the NRL are lucky enough to have..
The product is sold to the broadcasters.

Which can Rate half of what Swans Get in a city 3 times the size from 3 games to 22

simply amazing>> and puts the swans viewing numbers into perspective

(again Perth Interests in the premiership would increase if it had a team in the comp)

Possibly, WARL are including women in their figures now.
Check the fixtures - only seven teams - that's less than before.

It's as quiet as ever on the rl front in W.A. with rl relying even more on rl expats.

Must hurt Wallabies & sos draw bigger crowds in Perth than anglofl. See you at NRL 9's.

A one off game involving the national side!
What’s the national sides over all average compared to the eagles or dockers

The crowd from the wallabies efforts has to be far better than anything the nrlol has achieved with their national side
