Well, our Afl fans measure crowds as the be all and end all time and time again on this site.

And tonight state of origin pipped the west coast eagles vs Melbs in an Afl final for the best ever crowd at optus oval in Perth.

Just...

Great turn out for RL in WA.
A world class, Australian standard, crowd, blowing the French and Italian standards the NRL apparently rate well with off the map.

And at last a crowd bigger than AFLW. =D

How WA keep missing out on a team is beyond me.

a one off event! has all you league fans beating your chest how popular you think it reflects on league
how come the when the nrlol play their h&a games up here the crowds arent in the 50ks, didnt the double header only attract 30 or 40k earlier this year in WA
or when games are played at nab stadium is some 13k

funny how it never replicated for everything else league! like the GF, or when the national team the Kangawhoos play

It’s so obvious that WA is a rl State going by that crowd. The sooner they get a team (he’ll why not a couple) the better for these league starved sand gropers.

The Afl lads are a bit emotional. Noones said mutton about wa being a league state. It’s just that state of origin appears to be the most important event to go to at optus oval.... ever :(/

Calm down Afl boys, no need to go all emo meltdown and rant about things outside the thread topic.

And just to be clear I think it’s important we don’t suggest the soo is a one off event. It happens thrice... every year  and I think it’ll be gracing wa again in the not too distant future. And let’s be honest, it’s not every year west coast make finals and have finals at their home ground. It’s quite a rare “event” actually and yet...state of origin rolls into town on a cold and rainy winters Sunday eve and blows every single crowd ever recorded at optus out of the water

It’s just the facts boys, just the facts so don’t go and gimme ur hissy fits. Just pay homage to the greatness that is rugby league =D

Probably not, given the way West Coast memberships are sold and stadium ticketing arrangements for AFL matches are vastly different, but whatever floats your boat.
The numbers don’t lie Wookie. Rugby league stand at the top of the table, the best ever crowd to turn up at west coasts home ground

But please, explain yourself Wookie. there’s members who won’t undrstand ur argument re west coast memberships and ticketing arrangements.

:)

These numbers dont fell the full story though.

Origin doesnt have the same issue as West Coast for example, which has a waiting list of thousands for memberships and then theres the reserved seating issues, which means that the tickets to a match are sold, even if the person doesnt turn up. Its the same reason the MCG very rarely gets to capacity - MCC and AFL reserved seat members not turning up.
It seems nothing in fumble land "tell's the full story". Unless of course if its a fumble zealot trying to explain away RL's latest success.
