Record 1.6 million audience for first round NRL game.

Post by NRL&NFLweLaughATafl »

Roosters vs Rabbitoes 1.6 million viewers and ratings up for the first 3 games.
Not a bad start to the season.

less than 1m, when shown against no other sport, is pretty average. Yet somehow it's 1.6mil

Ah the AFL fan boy is feeling a bit insecure  . Are all the media outlets reporting it lieing?

The Sydney Morning Herald is a credible source and they say 1.6 million viewers for Souths & Roosters with rating up for all 3 games.
Numerous other media outlets have reported it too.

OZTAM are the one's who collect the figures, and I showed those figures above. In fact the story even says that the fox ratings were only 253k, which is in line with the OZTAM figures and well below even Thursday's fox ratings of 330k.

The article is either completely wrong or they are using peak ratings, not averages, which is increadibly misleading

I would say they are using audiences peak which is often used in AFL too. Is still an audience record which ever way you look at it and rating are up for the first 3 games.
Facts are facts.

yep, an increase on last year is a good thing. However, last year's opening game was well down on previous years so it's probably in line with past seasons

So are you calling Canada and USA one country now?

I guess you may as well include Mexico as part of the U.S.A with that logic

"that has spilled over their northern border into a neighbour"

despite all that international influence and exposure (which Australia doesnt have) and gridiron still hasn't made it to another continent. Why is that?

So why are you talking about Gridiron when we are discussing NRL tv ratings. Totally irrelevant. Total deflection. Stay on point or stay away pal.
