Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
On the weekend the nrl supported a match between an Aboriginal and Maori all stars team. Great concept for which the nrl should be applauded by all
The game wasn’t the most entertaining but interestingly, after Aboriginal players looked downcast during and refused to sing the national anthem a discourse is rising led by the Aboriginal all stars captain and the coach too. They’re calling for a discussion about changing the national anthem and perhaps a referendum so that Aboriginal people across the nation feel more included.
We must applaud these men for speaking their truths
Unfortunately I worry for Aboriginal Afl players who might want to join the chorus or stand up and loudly say the same publicly. The Afl supporters would likely rise in their thousands and start booing them during games, the majority of them would cowardly state it’s because the player who stood up against the anthem was a dirty player of some sort
The codes and their supporters are like chalk and cheese on Indigenous/Australia relations.

Oh dear, someone’s got their cranky pants on.
I’m just going off actual events that took place in the Afl after adam Goodes took a stance against racism. I’m sorry if it upsets you that your code has a massive racism issue but it’s best just to acknowledge it does and work towards reducing it in any big or small way you can nlol.

Oh dear.
How was Goodes racist
Is it racist to do a celebration indigenous dance ..lol,indigenous players in the nrl do it all the time & the fans love it .
Is it racist to have ape jokes made about you on radio by a club boss .
What planet are you on .
TLPG liar extraordinaire

You sound very insecure Pete. What’s the problem you have with goodesy? It’s quite hard to understand because your post explains nothing really.

Re: Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
Ah ok I see. You’re exactly the common example I’ve stated to deaf Afl supoorter ears or closet racists on this site before. Your argument is loud and clear. It was Adams fault he should not take a stand against racism because that makes all the racists feel insecure.
Thanks Pete. Now please, take ur filthy unaustralian ideas about goodesy elsewhere.
Lordy me, why is it almost always the Afl supporters who have these views on this site? Nlol? You’re always trying to be reasonable. You got any ideas as to why?

So you dont think Goodes was being aggressive & divisive when he attempted to throw the (fake) spear at the AWAY Carlton supports at the SCG. What was that all about? DO tell King!!? Why did he choose the one tiny pocket of away supporters to throw it.

AFL fans applauded when others did it too. They booed Goodes for other reasons, not his indigenous dance

Oh dear.
AFL says 'sorry' for not protecting Adam Goodes sooner from racist booing
The highest levels of the AFL have admitted that Adam Goodes was the target of extreme racism during the 2015 season and apologised for not acting earlier to protect him.

Re: Rugby league leaders leading the way for a better Australia
Weve gone through this before dear nlol. There’s not one Aboriginal player who’s stood up against racism in Afl crowds as firmly as Goodes has. He never got booed before he did that. And he was also Australian if the year. Didn’t that grind hard on the racist Afl supporters. So they booed and booed.
It’s hard to find another who’s taken such a sting public stance really. Only one I can think of who comes close is prob Michael
Long. He didn’t cop the onslaught of booing Goodes got. Instead he received death threats from the fans.
