Afl appoints first Indigenous commissioner

In 2019 the Afl has finally appointed an Indigenous commissioner. They turned down Michael Long saying he’s not experienced enough and have appointed a professor working at Uni of Western Australia. Helen has good fire so I hope she’s listened to and is able to make changes to reduce the institutional racism within the Afl.

It won’t be easy tho, she’s the only Aboriginal Person appointed in an org which has serious issues with racism. The other commissioners will likely want to only hear their own thoughts reflected back at them...

I hope there's no bananas on the board room table within arms reach of the other commissioners
This lady might get a close up look at afl racism .

I suppose all female NRL commissioners should fear violence

Maybe they can get someone to join the board and teach the ‘monkey dance’?

Nlol junior that’s a strange statement to make. It doesn’t really make much sense. Did you mean that it would be important for the nrl board to address racism? I’d agree with that.

Let’s keep it real tho, the nrl, and the dj in ur linked article says the same, take racism seriously. The Afl doesn’t appear to do so at all. There’s many accounts which prove this point.

The AFL banana was something that happened between player and fan in the crowd

The monkey issue has happened multiple times in the nrl

So given nrl fan logic it’s racism is running rampant in the nrl

Oh dear .
Another not so bright one .
This topic has been done to death

The amount of racist incidents in the afl in the last 5 years leaves the NRl well behind .

Go read any of the previous topics .

Your sport is the most racist in Aust
Other sports ..prob all sports have their problems with racism .
None come close to whiteyball .

Bullshit.

When have entire sections of an AFL crowd yelled racist abuse at players only to get off scott free?

QUEENSLAND'S State of Origin heroes were subjected to vicious racist chants by sections of the official NSW supporters' group during Origin II, with former NRL halfback Joe Williams revealing the "disgusting" gibes and signs.

The AFL's incidents tend to be individuals. This could happen 100 times before it gets to levels seen in this one NRL incident

Ah I see. Junior nlol me boy you have much to learn, so please, take a few moments to ask your mum to fetch you a warm milk and your fave blanky and then come back and read.

You back? Ok sit down now me boy, get comfy in ur blanky there. Now listen up good now. The nrl certainly does have occasional issues with racist fans, employees and players. It’s happened several times at differing levels of the organisation over the last ten years in fact. More often than not the issue is dealt with swiftly and harshly, people are sacked for example. Now let me let you in on another fact. On this very site over 15 years the % of all Afl fan members that have made racist comments and or blatantly defended racism in the Afl is about 79%. I certainly hope you’re going to be a minority unlike your father nlol junior?

Now In the Afl, on the other hand, there’s been countless examples of racism over the last decade across all levels of the code. More often than not the issue is not dealt with appropriately or at all for example the one white parent saga, Eddie mcgruire, Sam Newman get slaps on the wrist. The Aboriginal players association need to discuss their experiences of racism often, and a legend of the game, Adam Goodes, a swans best and FAIREST, a dual Brownlow medallist, an Australian of the year etc gets booed out of the game by thousands upon thousands of Afl fans across the country and on social media for speaking out against racism.

Nlol junior The Afl takes the cake as quite possibly the most racist code of any pro sport in the world, if not the galaxy.

You finished your warm milk? Oknow go to bed, I’ll teach you more in the morning nlol junior :)
