Wrong, Lebanon, Jamaica, Serbia and a few countries that play in the Balkan super league haven't ever played union, they're playing League now tho. So I guess League is the bigger code in those places.
Think you should have checked your facts too parra, both Jamaica and Serbia played rugby long before they played league, in fact Serbia union team played their first international in 1818, Serbia’s first rugby league international was in in 2003, Jamaica’s union team first game was in 1960, Jamaican rugby league first played in 1998. Lebanon was the only player you country you listed that played league before union which was only by 5 years. So to say Lebanon, Serbia and Jamaica “have ever played union” is factually incorrect.
 for doing the homework on this one!

If only afl had a game that was popular and successful world wide to piggy back off like union to become remotely popular around the globe

You don't speak facts .
You rant with crap .
This current crap has been addressed over & over in this & many other threads .

Your tiny brain cannot process what is posted .
So you just rant with the same shit .

How can RL piggy back off a different game
A game that was basically at war with RL since 1895...That tried to destroy RL
There's no piggy backing .
You can say it again & again ..doesn't make it true .
Different rules .
Let that sink in .

PLEASE TAKE NOT ALL>>>>

Posts in the threads when arguing a point or claiming a point from a club code etc etc.

will need have a source of info providing proof detailing your comment.

if a punter on the site asked for proof which you cannot provide.
this will be done as opinion and not actual fact.

therefore closing the argument and not clogging up threads

this will be needed going forward..

What a load of rot.

1818, no country played union, it wasn't even invented yet. Bloody lies. Oh and Serbia was part of the old Yugoslavia mate, think about it. And btw, RL was first played in that country back in the 1950s. Bloody know all know nothing. Jamaica union started before League you idiot as it's an older sport, but League is very much bigger now.

You are a one trick pony who has no idea, why not look up FACTS before posting.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_league_in_Serbia
Rugby league was introduced into Serbia in 1953, by then secretary of the Yugoslavian Sport Association, Dragan Maršićević. The first rugby league match in Serbia was held in Belgrade on November 26, 1953, between French students and Selection Provence. The game was part of an attempt by the French Rugby XIII Federation to stimulate interest in the sport in Serbia.

The first rugby league club formed in Serbia was Partizan, on November 1, 1953, followed a couple of months later by Radnički. The two teams played their first match on April 26, 1954, with Partizan winning 21-11. In 1961, the Yugoslav national team played their first and only match against a French amateur XIII, with the team going down 13-0.

Whilst rugby league was played in Serbia, Croatia played the rival code of rugby union and Yugoslav authorities demanded that Serbian clubs switch to rugby union to unite Yugoslavia under one form of rugby football in 1964.[3]

One other thing.

Before you come back and say, I meant 1918, think about it. In 1914 world war 1 kicked off in their own back yard, they got devastated, so how in the world would a new sport be kicking off 4 years later there when the war was still raging?

Any idea?

Maybe they didn't actually play the sport eh?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_union_in_Serbia
The first known Serbian rugby players were students at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh, Scotland during the First World War. On 11 April 1918 they played the first unofficial international game against students from a British Dominions XV and won by eight points to three in front of 10,000 spectators. Notable players were Toma Tomic from Leskovac, Dimitrije Dulkanovic and Danilo Pavlovic.[4] The students returned to Serbia after the war and formed the "Jugoslavija" club in Belgrade and the "Beli orao" club in Sabac. By 1923, however, rugby activities had ceased due to a lack of available pitches.

Rugby was re-introduced to the country in the 1950s. A Belgrade team, RK Partizan, was formed in 1953 and a few months later the Radnicki club was formed. The first match between the two teams was played in April 1954 with Partizan winning 21–11.
Sooo, the first game was not actually in serbia in 1918, it was a couple of expats playing elsewhere.

Then in 1953 ....... hmmmmm Rugby Union stole Rugby Leagues history huh?

Same clubs formed, same scores recorded, same spectators announced?

What a load of rot.

I posted the teamsheet and other stuff from this Rugby U .......League match years ago at LU in the French section, I got all the infor from Rugbyforumx111, a french League site where the guys there had scanned a heap of old rl books and magazines from over the last 70 plus years.
