Melbourne storm were in the GF so obviously Melbourne rated better. Other than that Perth and Adelaide rated only 188k combined for the NRL GF, while Brisbane rated 247k for the AFL on their own.

I'm not even saying the AFL is fully national, however it is more national than the NRL.
My point to NRL&NFL is expansion into new markets is extremely difficult, hence the reason RL hasnt expanded across this country despite it's popularity in Australia's biggest city and state. There are far more factors involved than just the quality of the sport

Yeah will be interesting what they come up with. Your right, it would likely be something to do with Canadian wildlife.
I hope they get these teams to play trials against NRL clubs some time.
