Yes it is
It's also called a gimmick
A novelty .

looking forward to it>>

Game 3 is usually a GUN Game with more attacking display
being at Suncorp helps too, to Rub in a NSW WIN!

dead rubber and will still manage around the 3mill mark

Is that because there's nothing on the line?

yep.. a few things though

1. being a dead rubber, nothing on the line.
2. its at suncorp so dry fast conditions better suited to attacking play
3. teams have been together longer now and attacks are clicking better..

OK, so here's the analysis of last nights tv ratings compared to other 3rd dead rubber games. The ratings were down about 12% compared to 2014 & 2016 but were about the same as 2007 and 2010.

Baring in mind the trend here and overseas is that live sports broadcast ratings are dropping that is an acceptable result. Overall the 3 game series was down 14% on last year but the 3rd game dead rubber is almost solely responsible for that drop.

& will still outrate every fumbleball game in the fumble universe except for the GF.
Not bad for a DEAD RUBBER game .
Not bad for a game labelled a GIMMICK or NOVELTY by the insecure southerners .

Lol the rampant jealousy is understandable .
To be smashed by a game they label as a gimmick .

Yep. 2.7M Aust wide. The way this years ratings are going will still be in the top 10 watched shows for the year. Pretty good for a dead rubber!!!

14 % drop off, that's huge, seems the novelty value has wore off on this spectacle.
If an afl game dropped off by this margin you dead rubber fans would shout about it all week.
