You really are a simpleton. No crowds no tv ratings no interest but but but they're bigger than everyone. Talk about brainwashed, you really do fit the bill. Fanatic.

Yeah, report says team's existence dependent on funding from the league.

LOL

Wooky backing up the drongo and the ALMIGHTY Flogball, who'd have thunk it.

How long would they last if they had to fend for themselves?

Don't bother answering, it'll only be lies propaganda and bullshit.

Perhaps try loosening that tin foil hat a touch dude! It will help with blood flow and circulation through that noggin!

The suns average a higher home ground attendance then the titans. Merchandise sales and gate receipts are not part of the afl assistance package and the suns rightfully get their share of the broadcast rights. And the suns get plenty of interest in local media ... just recently a 6 page spread for the women’s comp. all this whilst they’ve been a basket case on the field. Imagine if they start winning ? With a very strong grassroots at both junior and senior level rivalling the local rl comp ... and growing resulting in a shortage of grounds.... I think the investment has been well worth it thus far.

i could be wrong or could be right... i thought i would throw it out there..

but with CONTRA inbuilt into T.V Deals. by FOX and CH7

could this mean News Limited papers write up's and advertising in Papers
are just what FOX paid for.. that is why a 6 page lift out..

not because it is so popular everyone wants to read it, but has been paid in CONTRA>>

Who knows. Personally I don't think there is strong demand to read the lift outs etc. ... but they are there so people who want to read do. There is a strong Aussie Rules presence on the coast which I am sure you can attest to - whether people want to read about women's AFL is another thing. The fact is, it was stated there was no media coverage - which was simply wrong. They say the team doesn't draw crowds - yet Sun's consistently out perform the Titans for home crowds - both , as I have shown, have a large away team turnout to bolster this. The Suns have been a basket case and still get these crowds. Once more - grassroots is expanding nicely from an already strong base - in large due to the large take up of Women's AFL - where there is now a call for more grounds to be built as running out of rooms for games and for training purposes. So yes, the investment has indeed been worthwhile on the Gold Coast - if they start winning watch out.

As for GWS - the public interest in bogan central is largely focused on RL - the sport of choice in NSW for bogans. However, the growth in the amount of teams and players in Western Sydney cannot be denied - so that would be one KPI they are tracking well with.

To be honest most people don't even take any notice of women's AFL. Even the National Basketball League gets more news coverage than women's AFL.

Was a brief bit of coverage in the news recently on the women's GWS team. And they were playing in an empty Western Sydney park with close to no spectators.

Yes that is an interesting point ... they post numerous posts, can tell you crowd averages, post photos of games and even give scores.

You come across as so superior with that post. Given the crowd violence & racism afl fans shouldn't look down on anyone.
Nobody should trust any numbers released from afl. Participation numbers apparently reach 1.7 million. Membership numbers don't state how many come free with auskick or are limited to 3 games.
TV ratings are best because impartial & show claims of wide spread support is fanciful. Lots of money spent, but so little in return.

lol give the history of NRL crowd fudging I wouldnt fucking say a word about AFL crowds.

Membership Revenue tells us more than membership numbers, and NRL clubs have fuck all of that too. Seriously If we had all the figures available Id bet that the Swans Membership revenue beats all Sydney NRL clubs hands down on its own.

And GWS has never just been about tv and isnt just about the 8 years theyve existed as an afl team.
What was gws membership revenue? Remember to put minus in front.

Swans money comes from sponsorship because games get good ratings in Melbourne, Perth & Adelaide, but sadly very few viewers in home city of Sydney, go figure.

2nd Sydney team all about TV dollars as I've explained here before. Biggest potential audience equals biggest deal - how can you argue against that?

It wasnt negative, nad was pretty much on par with reported Sydney nrl clubs.

Sponsorship also includes attendance and media visibility. Not just television. Again, theres a reason the AFL makes so much more revenue in non broadcast sectors.

And are wrong.

because unlike the NRL, the AFL isnt a tv show with a live audience.
It was accepted at time gws & GC were added to boast broadcasting deal. Since gws has failed to attract an audience people like you are now back tracking from this.
