As a 20 year old if I was getting paid 300k a year to play/work in another state I wouldn't look back .
Plenty of young people left the Easternstates to work in WA in the mining boom ....
It appears afl players are softer than most .
it's not players in general, it's a selection of star players who see similar dollars offered by clubs in their home state and decide playing in the city they grew up in is enough to make the change. Lynch from the Suns, one of the best forwards in the game, is currently considering his future and may very well return to his home state, leaving the suns in even more trouble
But but but but Gilty kept telling us about all those great players coming out of Qld lolololololololol........you know.....home grown boys that were already at home hahahahahaha!!!!!!

Don't tell me Gilty lied .................no no no no no no .......surely not lololololololol!!!!!!
there are plenty of players coming out of NSW and QLD. We are talking about the elite few that are targeted here, not your run of the mill player

Terry Terry Terry, you're either a moron or a troll, or both.

MORE AFL players come from Vic, SA and WA, so they are more likely to produce elite players. Therefore QLD and NSW teams are more likely to lose players from the draw to go home. If you cannot understand that you're approaching pussycat's level of stupidity

It's great you see the truth pal. I'm pointing out that Gilty and the AFL propaganda dept are continually telling us they've got 100k's 'players' in Qld and NSW. Yet when it comes to this we learn the truth - the cupboard is bare.

It's like Paul Roos a couple of months ago finally telling the truth saying that it was frustrating the AFL kept putting out their propaganda numbers when he actually knew things weren't that good. Facts ma'am just the facts!!!!

Superb thread. I particularly like nlols work in this thread. I think on several occasions you can see he really understands the expansion has fucked the game to high hell.

=D proud of you nlol son, =D proud of you

Ok so this is the answer to all the afls problems. I’ve known this for a very long time.

Gdubbyaes and the Thuns must be abolished! Like tonight!!! They’ve just gotta fukkin go.

Stkilda, Melbs, and western bulldogs also need to be abolished at the end of this season. They generally suck and there’s no point having them.

Kim jong Un needs to visit The Brisbane club and as an effective method to denuclearise North Korea, he needs to drop all his bombs on that club by dawn tmw morn

If the above happens, then within two years the afl returns to the glory it has had decades ago. It’s that simple, the afl and gilts andAndy “afl will be the sport of choice for all young Australian men” demeshito have fukked the whole comp with their arrogant I’ll thought out expansion.

Alternatively I’d suggest the afl take the bull by the horns and own the comedy act the game has become by continuing the expansion

If they get their tv $$$ And quickly put another set of unco sticks in at each ground and then setup a team in China, one in Wellington, another in south west Sydney, one out at Logan in qld, as well as Kazakhstan, Greenland, Mongolia, North Korea, Iraq and one in Malta and they use aflcrap1’s avatar for promo?

I reckon the viewer numbers would quadruple for the sheer blooper comedy factor! it’s really not that far fetched given the current status of competition

I think the Giants and Suns have a point when you consider the strong go home factor and other clubs circling to take young developing talent. I’d like to see them drop the silly GWS name too and identify more as simply Western Sydney Giants. Sounds silly when you hear commentary refer to them as GWS.
Strong go home factor . What a crock of shit ...
Poor little mummy boys can't be away from home .
Can't they get on a 2 hr flight to go see mummy if they miss them .

A pathetic excuse
Doesn't seem to worry RL players signed by Melb .

Maybe we breed them a bit tougher .
How soft are these AFL players, they can't be a 1 hour flight 1000 km from 'home' Jesus, Football players travel the globe, Aaron Mooy left home to play in England when he was 15. Cahill was 17 I think.

Nathan Walker who just won the Stanley Cup with Washington left home to play in the Czech Republic when he was 14.

All of these guys are bigger stars than any AFL sook. Toughen up

Giants say $167m investment will pay off

THE AFL will pour another $23 million into Greater Western Sydney this season — taking the total investment in the expansion club beyond $167 million. But after seven seasons, Giants chairman Tony Shepherd insists they are on track “to become a fully viable club.

Lol viable if the AFl keep pouring money in .

Because lying about crowds won't help the bottom line .

The go home factor doesn't necessarily mean they miss there parents. They would just rather play in front of 80,000 passionate fans each week in footy made states instead of 6000 people in the hole that is Western Sydney where AFL must be hated at all costs.

Its really not rocket science to work that out

funny how Western Sydney is a hole

but it outstrips most parts of Melbourne suburbs in regards to real estate dollar lol

(I do agree with the crowds for players issue you state though)
to actually playing in front a good crowds to where the other state with crap crowds doesn't care for AFL

I presume you must be the engagement manager at AFL HO with views such as that.,,,,,Western Sydney must be a hole because we don't bow down to the great AFL Gods. Maybe the people of Western Sydney know a lemon when they see one
