I am not comparing Rugby league in England >>

I am comparing Rugby Codes (union and league) with crowd standards around the world>

you know

New Zealand
England (Ireland) Wales) Scotland
France
Italy
South Africa
Japan
etc etc...
and RL isnt even the second most popular sport in those countries, except NZ where RU is so far ahead it's not funny. If you're content comparing to those comps you must be very easy to please
Yes the whole 5million people in Sydney get to see the swans 11 games a year..
with who knows how any expats travelling to the great city to watch
Pies v swans
Crows v Swans
Hawks v Swans
Tigers v Swans

you see how popular AFL really is when the AFL plonked another team here (7k in Attendance)
So the swans crowds are boosted by people from interstate but not the Sydney NRL clubs from opposition sides in the same city?
easy to please>> 20k crowds are great if achieved (would be in the top 15 sports attendances in the world)
remember 16k crowds are not including SOO Games and Tests etc..(which would increase that figure)

also in Rugby league>> very unlike Melbourne

Most home games at ground consist of most home support.. an very little away..

I spoke to wookie about this>> and he stated the NRL should do what the AFL do
and entice the away members of supporting teams discounts etc etc to attend ...

as the AFL do this very very well..

and the NRL do not>> it was tried 1 game last year by Parramatta and it worked a treat 33k a to normal sunday arvo game.

I cannot believe the NRL or clubs have not looked at this more or pushed down this way..

Away attendance has been strong way before any incentive for members. In fact much of it is general public

if you look at home games in the NRL for teams playing at home

Dragons
Tigers
Cronulla
Panthers
Manly
raiders
for example 90% is home support

but this again comes down to NRL fans not valuing attendance. Most AFL games in Melbourne have a fairly even crowd bias, or maybe favouring the home side to a small degree. Games in non Melbourne cities favour the home side obviously, but nothing like we see in the NRL.

I dont understand why NRL fans dont want to go an watch their own side, irrespective of where they are playing

yes I agree, I wish the NRL was like this> but it totally the opposite.

occasionally for big games and semis this will change>> but yes I get your point>>
its been like this for years and has never really changed.

games at MCG and Ethiad #Marvel stadium yes fans are split very even
hard to tell sometimes who's home game it is.
