AFL violence amongst fans - silence no longer11

Amongst a horror year for the Australian Fumbling League it has now come to light that crowd violence is endemic in the league.

But worse: it has always been so - it's just that no one in the media has been game to report on it in the past. Isn't that so AFL!!!! Oh....the shame!!! The only reason it is now seeing the light of day is because recent brawls have been filmed on mobiles etc. & posted on social media.

So far this year there have been 16 crowd brawls in only 9 rounds. Yep that's right - 16.

Shame AFL. Shame Gilligan. Shame AFL crowds!!!!!!

Obviously there are no brawls in NRL crowds. How could there be when there's no crowd?

What a stupid thread. The link provided states there has been no increase in brawls, only an increase in public knowledge of the brawls because people now have easy access to phones with cameras.

1. the AFL do not condone the brawls
2. there are security staff at grounds to stop brawls
3. unfortunately this is not uncommon when large proportions of opposition crowds are fired up, potentially intoxicated, and within the same area.
4. brawls are also common in crowds of other sports including RL. In fact in games like soccer opposition supporters are often separated to limit brawls. They then just do it outside the venue

Always .
Nah don't think so
The very compliant afl media made sure that "Bad News " stories were routinely buried .

With everyone with Mobile phones & cameras ....that's now impossible .

The AFL average close to 300k attendance every round, with a significant proportion being away supporters. From such a large crowd it's hardly surprising there will be the odd dispute.

Wow!!!!!!! This 'game' is truly outta control!!!! A Collingwood fan breaks a mans jaw in two place outside the MCG in an unprovoked attack!!!! There should be a senate enquiry about AFL crowd violence - this is disgusting stuff!!!

What the fuck is wrong with these southern hicks .?
Is the game that bad to watch you have to liven up your day by getting into a brawl .
Understandable
I'd be angry if I just sat through a few hrs of an ugly ugly mess of uncos fumbling & bumbling around a field .

Lol there's now talk of segregating fans ....

Now we wait for the forum cultist to come in & try to but but but but .

& why has this thread been hidden in the afl section instead of the Fight club .

Leroy please move this into TFC .
This very serious issue should be there for the fans of other sports to see & discuss .
After all. The fumblers have looked down their noses for years pointing at THUGBY League...
Bogans ..violence associated with RL...etc .
Now the problem in afl can't be hidden anymore this thread has ended up away from the main discussion board ..
I wonder why .

they are passionate about their sport and their club, and when mixed with alcohol, it can spill over for the minority of idiots. If it happens less in the NRL it is due to 1. less fans attending, 2. those that do dont give a rat's arse anyway

it happened after the game, so the manner in which the game was played is irrelevant

click bait only. Only a moron would consider this an option.
