Go speak to nrLOL
He was mumbling about how ratings should add another half of the official rating for AFl games because it goes for 3 hrs compared to RL 2
Hence the media deals should be worked out the same
You got slightly more per year for far far far more air time
We are more valuable
You have an issue talk to the mumbling fumbler .
As,for advertising .
Look around ,,it's everywhere ,

Re: I have some bad news. The cancer has spread.
Do you hold concerns for the quantity now on offer during games?
IMO. The NRlilL have gone the complete wrong way.
They seem to have no qualms infesting the viewing.
Conversely.
The AFL just extended ad breaks to 30sec.
Which doesn't effect the viewing at all.
In fact imo, enhances it.
Not only do you have time enough to grab a beer, but the players have 15sec more "resty leggy time".
Allowing greater effort upon restart.
And of course, our retinas un-besmirched.

Re: I have some bad news. The cancer has spread.
No prob with the viewing . RL has the advantage of a far more even comp .
That's the focus for most fans .

Re: I have some bad news. The cancer has spread.
No problem with the viewing......?
Your obviously no purist then. Shame really.
What is your tipping point?
How much more cancer can you take until you do have a problem.
What if those digital banners on the field become active and multiply?
"That'll never"you say.
But, you see Crap, that is the natural evolution for advertising.
Step one: Infect an area.
Step two: Post static ad. (Annoying)
Step three: Post active ad (Fucking annoying)
Step four: Repeat steps 1,2 and 3.
Round and Round it goes.
Surely you have a little problem with it as it is, surely?

Nope
I watch the game
You seem to have some bizarre fixation with ads.
But it's good to see you watching games .
Closet RL fan are you?

there is very limited space for advertising breaks during play..
one thing that AFL and Cricket have got in common..
plenty of adverts during play>>
something Packer realized with cricket 45 years ago...
add break every over.. which was a huge winner $$$
exactly like the AFL every Goal..

Re: I have some bad news. The cancer has spread.
Well, i am staggered.
No problem..... at all......
But............., given some thought, some sense came of it.
You have the exact same attitude as your NRlilL,
that is,
am happy to be bent over and given a royal reaming from the advertisers.
How much more can you take...............?
And as i've mentioned in the past, i watch every Storm match.
With 5 Grand final wins under their belt it's hard not to watch the greatest NRlilL team in the history of the competition.
And the fact they are from Melbourne, well.................., to stick it up you northerners gives me great joy.
Add to that the yearly cockroach squishing season.
I'me truly puzzled to think of what you have left to be happy about.

Re: I have some bad news. The cancer has spread.
Until they stop the game for advertising there is no problem ..
Tell me is it true that in Aflol after a goal is scored they can't restart( ch 7 games.) for about 30 secs .until ch 7 fit their ad in .
Lol if true .

Re: I have some bad news. The cancer has spread.
Three things need to happen Crap.
Get the ball back to the centre.
All players resume their positions.
And the red light flash in the broadcast box.
Since moving to 30 second ad, it's now the last to happen. Mostly.
And it generally takes that long for the massive crowds to settle back down anyway.

Re: I have some bad news. The cancer has spread.
What's really laughable here crap is that 1 or 2 ads doesn't infest your view of the game at all.
Very traditional advertising.
Where as a single NRlilL match is is filled with 1000's of seperate ads. On field, in goal, dead ball, the sideline gallery and all over the players.
All there during play. Constantly being flashed on your screen in the battle for your focus.
Making it look cheap and stealing the purity of the contest.
I still find it hard to believe you don't have a problem with it
New Age, in game ads. I'll call them.
Most are static for now, but I hold little doubt it will stay that way. Tech will catch up.
Will never not have ads, but I know which style I prefer.
Call me a traditionalist if you will.

Lol
Rant about ads
Show that your sport has a tv station saying they can restart play after an add .
All sports have advertisements .
It's part of revenue .
I expect you'll just keep ranting
It seems to upset you more than any RL fan ...lol

No, just concerned where it's all heading.
Across the board but particularly the NRlilL and their tendency for in game ads.
Don't underestimate advertiser's.

You're not concerned .
You're obsessed .
& seeing as RL fans aren't too concerned it's not a problem .
But feel free to keep obsessing .
It's great entertainment

As you're no purist your complete lack of concern is understandable.
But don't worry.
I will be keeping a close eye on future developments of in game ads.
