But but but
Why isn’t it anywhere near as popular as union?

It’s not like afl has had an advantage of anywhere near league had to be popular on the world stage
Rugby league has had many issues over the years..

did you know RUGBY LEAGUE was banned by the French Government

http://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-league/24547273

During the Second World War, in association with the French Rugby Union Federation (FFR), the sport was banned by the Vichy government, an act from which it has struggled to recover. There has been a recent resurgence of the sport following the admission of Catalans Dragons to the European Super League. In 2012, there were approximately 30,000 active participants
Was banned not now!
How about the rest of the world?

Banning a Sport for a period of time and stopping all traction of a sport.
causes massive damage..

I stated France as it was very popular in this country until this period of time >>

And it is only making a comeback the pass decade..

REST OF THE WORLD>>

Never stated R.L is popular is rest of the world..
it never will be... its good to have a niche in a dozen countries around the world.
and slowly growing.

rubbish article that is simply an opinion piece rather than actual fact. As always league tries to blame rugby for its lack of progress. vichy this vichy that. Its a broken record. Reality is your game just isn't that great.

I posted another UK article about a month back that said pretty much the same thing. That was also directed to Link . Obviously he's still at the Neanderthal stage when it comes to reading.

You must enjoy reading the same old boring articles. Funnily enough after this was written more that 2.4 million people attended the games and millions of viewers world wide. Not bad for a game that’s “inferior” to league

After the war was ended the Ban was lifted by General de Gaulle but these assets that were confiscated were never given back and the banning of the use of the name rugby was enforced until 1991! During these dark times many of the clubs reverted back to Union and so it grew strong once again on the back of the work these clubs had done.

Well I know Rugby League and Gridiron are superior to AFL because they have grown outside of 1 country. Meanwhile nobody gives two shits about Aussie Rules outside Australia.
