Tremendous insight as to how Fox works Wookie. Well done.......who woulda known??? Maybe that's why they started a League channel do you think? Which incidentally is in it's first year so plenty of potential for improvement.
this sums up RL fans on here perfectly. Your crowds are poor but WILL get better. You get less TV money but WILL get more. You have no presence in 3 states but WILL expand. You have poor membership numbers but they WILL grow.

It's all about some time soon, not now
And don't forget we get bigger ratings year on year than fumbleball. We got more last year....fact. And we're tracking to get more this year......fact.

Some time soon you fumblers might challenge us but it's not now. Maybe next year.....maybe next decade.....but not now.
you dont bet bigger ratings, quite the opposite. You just have more games available to your entire audience due to scheduling. We are the ones who rated better for the GF, the finals, the home and away games, on FTA and Foxtel.

Pretty much the only thing increasing for rl is TV revenue, which increased substantially for us too
Total NRL revenue for the past 5 years is greater than AFL's for the past six. But, but, but [-(
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

Cut out all these but but excuses. Its tiresome having to listen to you Southerner's and your pathetic excuse's . The reason the AFL is so far behind Rugby League when it comes to TV ratings is because of your lopsided competition . All but 2 or 3 of your matches each round are at blowout odds. The NRL is the complete opposite with rarely more than a couple of matches at big odds.
The reason rugby odds are generally not at big odds is the same reason rugby stadiums rarely fill.

Because it's just glorified wrestling.

Once the UFC fighters go to the ground all you hear is booing.

It's probably better for rugby that their fans stay at home and boo.... :\:

Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
