Rugby League will shortly be introducing laser technology to determine offside.... The gap just keeps getting wider :thumbleft:
Yeah, that'll make up for their crap stadiums, which their fans complain about constantly, their lack of national footprint, lack of grassroots presence in 4 Australian states, and spiralling crowds

Rugby League continues to lead the way [in how to run an unsuccessful business], that's about it! With no juniors, no money, no spectators, amateurish (at best) channel 9 tv coverage and with the Friday 6pm game an absolute ratings disaster, I can't see what else they would be leading. If anyone can say that everything's rosy when there's only a handful of spectators at each game and every Sydney club is operating at a loss, then they need to get off the drugs. I don't think that sponsors are going to continue paying for advertisements when the camera pans around the ground to empty seats. Surely it must be as embarrassing for them as it is to the NRL?

Making almost 50m in profit over the past 5 year - more than the other code in this country. Growing revenue faster than other football code.?

More TV viewers than any other football code in Australia. ratings up 14% last year.

We have plenty of juniors! though every unskilled moron with a bus pass cant Play our game.

You know your a desperate when the only thing you can crow about is crowds
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

Surely crowds is a fairly significant thing? And I believe revenue and sponsorship are pretty good for the afl ... and membership. I think ratings are pretty good too?

Fatty Vautin's show might cop a bit of flack but at times. But the NRL footy program won the logie for best sporting program.

logies are awarded according to tv week votes. They have little if anything to do with popularity. Ratings do, and the AFL footy show has always outrated the NRL's

The latest data collected in the Nielsen Social Content Ratings for the week ending April 30 sees two reality formats and two news programs in the top five for non-sport content. Nine News dominated the week with over 59,000 interactions. The Sunday Night final of My Kitchen Rules was next followed by the first two episodes of The Voice last week.

In sport, AFL matches took the top four spots on the chart with the Anzac day match between Essendon and Collingwood screened by Seven and Fox Footy ranking #1.
