So there’s no point discussing this any further I guess re: numbers. I guess we can’t take nrl crowd figures seriously either given their admitted track record of fudging crowds.
    :(/ :(/

the only crowd fudgers around these days come from the aflol

Wow. just Wow!

BREAKING: The @NRL
Magic Round will be in Brisbane for the next 2 years 🎉

After hosting last year’s Grand Final, we’re signing a new deal with the NRL to secure Brisbane’s Magic Round for 2023 & 2024, generating more than $22.5 million each year for Brisbane’s visitor economy.

I think this is a great initiative -AFL should do similar in Adelaide and/or West Australia - I think the NRL could also do it in Sydney as well - and maybe Perth. Would help boost crowds for the NRL.

It is interesting that Australian rules has many more leagues and teams in the half of Australia that doesn’t care about it than rugby league has in the other half. Does that mean that the other half thinks even less of rugby league,

And if your half of the country (alone an exaggeration) doesn't care less about Australian rules, why do they have the most attended football club in Sydney and the 2nd best attended club in Brisbane, which will in a couple of years be the most attended club in Brisbane too.

You exaggerate the worldwide popularity of gridiron and the NFL, huge in the US, expansion attempts for the code have failed, both domestically and internationally.
And I did not compare Australian Rules to gridiron, just put it on a list on mainly domestic sports.
If anything compares to gridiron it is rugby, which American football evolved from and dwarves. Well they don't really compare. do they?
rugby league will never be big for playing numbers >> it is too physically demanding...

lions over taking broncos for attendance lol.. i do not think so.

lions have had there chance for pass 3 years with Broncos down the bottom..

interesting you keep saying the Dolphins entry will bring down the Broncos attendance..

this did not happen to Crows and West Coast..
The past two of three years has not been a guide for attendance anywhere. Lets see the next 3 years. 23, 24, 25.
that is true.

I guess we will have to wait,

i believe and on tract record Broncos will continue its dominance.

Also adding another sell out derby to there schedule helps

Magic Round is quite a unique experience.
fans of all clubs together at one ground..

the chats and laughs you have at pubs and in around the city are an experience.

Magic Round will become like Origin A great money making event on its calendar.

i do hope it stays in QLD because it is perfect.

Would it do as well out of Brisbane, I’m not sure it would do as well in other cities, or a least, as consistently well.
Not too sure an AFL version would work either. Be interesting to try though.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

QLD is the best spot, as it is also a good holiday getaway in the winter.

Suncorp is centred in the City of Brisbane and bars and pubs surrounding it with CAXTON stretch which lead into Suncorp
it is a great set up..

Sydney SFS and Olympic Park are dead zones.. i do not see it working as good in any other city.

Been some movement on the NARL.
One game is scheduled for 22/5/22.
With the note other games scheduled soon.
The 21/5/22 “magic round” 6 clubs isn't happening but at least something is.

Magic Round was not just an enormous occasion for the 130,000 fans who braved the shocking weather. It was also the highest-rating round ever on Fox League, with an average audience of 470,000 across Fox Sports and Kayo.
