I read that in my feed. Interesting article. I was surprised they felt 3 billion valuation of the nrl was agreeably a little high.
Buyers don't usually talk up the price!

The NRL has agreed to look into it, the rest is paper talk.

also an interesting take.

NRL AND AFL dont currently pay tax.

Would bringing in investors or part owners make this nil and void.

Where the Organisation would need to pay TAX

The afl is not for profit so no tax to be paid obviously. I think the funds distributed to the “partner” would then be taxed yes?

Well only if it made a profit and as a not for profit it wouldn’t I would guess. I’m unclear if distributions to investors would come from a set amount they had to pay them ... thus a cost like wages.... or if they were required to generate profit (thus no longer nfp) to distribute earnings.
