Qld
1 nrlol
2 union
3 afl
4 soccer
There are large amounts of kids playing AR now days. League is so popular thanks to the success of the broncos & news corp their owners whoreing them out at every opportunity.
AR has a very strong league all up the Coast line up to cairns & is very strong in the SE.
The areas where league dominates are the bogan towns far behind the times, Bundaberg, Toowoomba, rock Hampton, Mackay etc. in the last decade of living in qld AR has definitely become more popular

Good to see ya back Fredo. And it's great that you seem to have your confirmation bias affliction under control. Now back to realities - I wouldn't be writing off RU any time soon pal. It's way ahead of the fumbling game in NSW and Qld. It's only you poor stockholm syndrome suffering fumbleball mushrooms that think otherwise.
Apart from that - keep up the rehab and stay away from fumbleball goal post counting and all will be well. I'm here for ya bro!!!!!!!! If you need further help for gods sake PM me. I'm here to help!!!!

Re: Rank the codes in each state of Aus
I’d suggest there has been a big change in rankings in NSW, ACT and QLD with the AFL becoming more and more popular. Soccer and Union would be 3rd and 4th I’d say now with AFL in 2nd.Swans4ever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2017 10:29 amLeaguies like to only talk in terms of NSW and QLD for obvious reasons but as we all know Australia consists of more than 2 states so heres mine

Demonstratively incorrect pal. RU 2nd and a titanic battle between your mob and soccer for the minor places. See my post in the other thread for further details.Beaussie wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 7:05 pmI’d suggest there has been a big change in rankings in NSW, ACT and QLD with the AFL becoming more and more popular. Afl definitely second in seq if not all of qld.
RU is hardly heard of....not even on fta.
Soccer ... good junior numbers but hardly rates a mention

Re: Rank the codes in each state of Aus
Wrong again pal. The Wallabies have the same effect in Qld they do in NSW. Elevating RU to easily gain 2nd spot throughout all the state.
Your mess and soccer can argue over the crumbs!!!!

Re: Rank the codes in each state of Aus
Good grief, did you even see the tv ratings for the Wallabies on Saturday night?
So bad that the SBS Tour de France beat it and Channel 10 was relegated to 5th in the nightly network shares.

Interesting to revisit this thread. I would think the AFL is bigger than soccer in Queensland and would be close to if not more popular than Union on many metrics.
I would think the Lions are the biggest sporting club, membership wise in QLD.... just like the Swans are in NSW and their tv audiences, like the Swans in NSW - would monster your average soccer or union game. Take last night as an example with 72,000 FTA viewers alone in Brisbane for the Lions without taking into account Kayo and Fox Footy numbers. The soccer meanwhile involving the Brisbane Roar had a paltry 11,000 audience nationwide.
SEVEN’S AFL: FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Seven Network 639,000 17,000 366,000 72,000 80,000 103,000
https://tvtonight.com.au/2021/05/friday ... -2021.html
AFL
Brisbane Lions vs Richmond Tigers
Seven/7mate 835,000 (Metro 639,000 Regional 196,000)
Fox Footy 214,000
A-League Fox Sports
Newcastle Jets vs Brisbane Roar I 11,000

Re: Rank the codes in each state of Aus
I agree Beaussie... afl definetely above soccer in Qld . I’d suggest RU as well but there is an underlying string support for RU but as it is going horrendously it is somewhat undercover. If RU was to get its act together I think it would clearly be second in QLD. Rugby League by a mile though.
I think the comparison of interest is his RL is doing in non traditional states... which compared to the Aussie rulrs, is doing poorly. Although I do feel some progress on Victoria. I think this hails back to when Storm set up and the Sydney centric attitude the nrl/arl had back then. They simply just put a team there thinking everything would follow or simply didn’t care if it did or didn’t.
