Re: Toronto (that's Canada for the dingb@t)
I've seen a lot of AFL fans dismiss this club as nothing serious.
Yet they are now signing players from the NRL.
The Dragons Josh Mccrone is likely to join the Wolfpack next year.

Have there really been people who have dismissed it? I think it is great. Crowds up there with some nrl games... although larger population... but still.

Swans forever dismissed it, and are plenty of other AFL fans just like him.Swans4ever wrote: βSun Apr 24, 2016 8:41 pmSeriously - this is not an organic team this is just a publicity stunt!
I guess it is jealousy, some AFL fans think their sport has some kind of presence in Canada.
Yet now we have a Canadian Rugby League fan who has just created his own team in Canada.

Re: Toronto (that's Canada for the dingb@t)
They just got another record crowd this weekend.
7247
North America is without a doubt Rugby Leagues best untapped market.
Has a much better chance at relating to locals than AFL ever will, due to them loving full contact sports.

Maybe AFL should play exhibition matches in Canada instead of China.
I still think Rugby League has a huge advantage over AFL in North America due to similar field dimensions to Gridiron and the structure of the game.
AFL is pretty much admitting this themselves, which is why they are creating AFLX.
You can see in this interview the Canadian owner Eric Perez likes Rugby League as much as a lot of Aussies.

You can't deny expansion into North America is one of the most exciting things that has happened to Rugby League in a long time.
Already had a few passionate Canadian fans on the debut home game.

Re: Toronto (that's Canada for the dingb@t)
Dave Taylor is set to become the latest signing of the Toronto Wolfpack . They have averaged 60 per match in there first season. And after just one year are in line for a promotion to the 2nd tier. Wow
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!
