Have you ever thought that the 6 year deal by the AFL

Fox and 7 paid abit more to secure it for 1 year longer..

In this environment .. for Sport, I would pay a touch more for a year longer.. and that's what FOX DID.

2 billion or 2.5 billion with extra year.. with 2 extra teams.. ( much the same)

yes we include our 3 games in SOO

but you cannot include RLWC and 4 nations Etc as they are sold separately..
Both deals conclude in 2022 so in reality we now both have 7 year deals.Over the next 7 years the Afl will make 2.78 billion(250 next,2.58 for the next 6 Nrl will make 2.3-2.4 billion(200 million for the next 2,1.9-2 billion for the next 5) On top of that the NRL have to play thurs and Monday next year and Friday 6pm for the 6 years after that. What a fukn joke.My friend on this deal you got completely pantsed.

I don't see a problem in Thursday night football. (also I see the AFL doing this as well) as it was tried and was a success.
I do however hate Monday Night. (1 more year to go) and Goooonnee =D> 3

regarding 6pm, a lot of fans are undecided on this, me also. and time will tell if this will be a success or not.

World Cup maybe excluded - deals are typically the province of the international body. Id bet four nations is included though, it usually is.
tbh im not 100% sure

northern hemisphere when 4 nations are on and the World club challenge.

I think this is a separate deal, the NRL don't say much on this.

it says nothing on 4 nations.. in Australia either
4 nations ends after this current deal with a confederations cup starting up with 6 or 8 nations.

Talk about missing the point.Despite being 4-5 hundred million worse off you were forced to bend over and accept something which adds no value to your product at all.The one thing I can promise you is that crowds will definitely fall next year with two games in primarily TV spots. So for not one extra penny you've sacrificed revenue to appease the networks. You had to do this so you were somewhere in the ballpark and you still came up 60million a year light on the Australian rights. There is no doubt which Code the networks value more.

AFL excess of $50m

Obviously its not your strong point bud, literacy seems to be a problem as well. Both leagues are now contracted for the next seven years.Over that time the Afl is 4-5 hundred million better off. You repositioned your current deal and received nothing in return.Simple maths bud.But we all know intellect isn't a strong point in the NRL community. This is why you cant find one of your own to run the place.

I never said you had signed a seven year deal what I said is you are contracted for the next 7 years. Over that seven years you are 4-5 hundred million behind. Which part of this do you dispute. Channel 9 reamed you silly,650 million with streaming rights. This made telstras deal worth a lot less. Why get the league pass when you can stream all the major games on 9's streaming service.NRL a distant no.2 when it comes to TV rights
