How many clubs should the afl drop and why

Four.

The afl and its fans are renowned for overestimating the reach of and interest in marngrook across the nation. And it's costing em big time.

The comp is lopsided. The chasm between the quality of sides in the top 5 and bottom five is ginormous.

The expansion teams are money sucking leeches beyond the afl's worst nighmares.

There are 6 blithering basketcase clubs.

All this because some idiots down at afl hq thought the game would be , as demetrious said, the game of choice for all australian men"

Additionally the afl has who knows how many clubs who have cheated with drug enhancements and tanking recently.... Essendon and melbs simply have to go. They deserve to be shown the door but they'll also never recover anyway.

So on second thoughts, with all things considered, I change my nomination from four teams to eight teams that have to go. The afl and marngrook in Australia simply can't sustain more than 10 quality pro teams across the nation, there's just not enough talent or interest.

:)

We're not talking cwowds here adumb. We are talking about the quality of the competitions.

If there's any other thread topics you're confused about please Lemme know, I'm happy to help you man :)

I think we can all agree here. The afl is so very compromised. I just want us to talk about how many clubs the organisation should drop to make an ideal even competition, similar to the nrl.

:)

Hmm you make a sound point there aflcrap.

I guess it'll be difficult for them to engage with this thread, as adumb has already shown. But it is worth telling and discussing the truth so I thought id post it anyway.

We will see.

How many teams do you reckon they need to drop to be a credible competition?

When you read stuff like this, Wow, Something is wrong somewhere.
The Future Fund established by the commission in 2007 has a book value of $89.4m but sits with only $63m in cash. While established to buy assets (Etihad Stadium) and be a reserve to cope with unforeseen financial circumstances, it appears to be used to keep the league turning over.

The AFL denies this but there is no doubt the account is being used for matters other than stated when the commission gave birth to the fund with an initial seeding of $16m in 2007. The past two annual reports record profits of a combined $29m, which are claimed to have been deposited in the Future Fund.

In simple terms that should put the Future Fund at $118m. Yet it is still recorded at $89m but with just $62m in cash. No doubt this is all regulated accounting and there is no suggestion of impropriety, but nonetheless money appears to be drying up at football’s headquarters.

Several clubs are sure the league is haemorrhaging money to its vision of national domination.

They need to get rid of some of the basketcase's before they become the next Greece .

Stay strong axe, things will hopefully get better one day.
