Has Rugby League Became More Popular Than AFL In Melbourne?

Have to admit, the MCG is a great stadium for Origin. Was such a good atmosphere to watch a game of Rugby League in.

So do you think the NRL will risk doing it again next year??? I mean that unless they get the same crowd or more then you'll hear a chorus of people saying it's not worth it (particularly NSW RL people!)

They could play it at home where they have shown over the years they can and do get crowds.

The ARLC and esp the ARL say thankyou very much for the extra $$$ this year and just in time for the next TV deal, thankyou very much Victoria :D

they tried it years ago several years in a row at the MCG and the crowd went down for each game

Every 3 years they will sell a game to a neutral venue being the MCG Perth or NZ or whatever place decides they want to host a game.

Too many NSW & QLD fans are very dirty at it being held in Melbourne at all. They say it is a Northern states event and Victoria don't deserve it.
Don't think the NRL would not risk putting it there every year with a lot fans being unhappy about it.

Every 3 years makes the event more special.

Learn to under stand why they paid for it? It's like the Grand Prix. It boosts the states overall economy from the influx of visitors!
