Hmm... WSW v Melbourne Victory @ ANZ Stadium (Saturday night)sydneyfc wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2014 2:47 pmhttp://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslo ... 7108642566
let's go back to the year 2011 folks, only 1 club team of any code using that stadium...it was, essentially...a dilapidated piece of crap that no one wanted to go to
the council and nsw government didn't want to come within touching distance of the place, refused it funding because the eels were struggling to draw a crowd
enter the wanderers - and in less than 3 years not only are they getting it upgraded to 24,000 but the government is now trying to get funding to knock skip that, knock it down and build a completely new stadium
would of never been possible without the wanderers who pretty much own that stadium now - they dominate it attendance wise vs the eels, play more home games there...it's essentially their ground
"god bless the wanderers" - nathan hindmarsh, eels legend
Maybe the a league and nrl can do a joint venture and built a 10k capacity stadium! That way they will Abe able to get close to half filling it most weeksBeaussie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 1:47 amHmm...
