Is melbourne Australia's most ugly city?

Post by King-Eliagh »

Yes. Yes it is.

Having had the privilege to have travelled to all Australia's cities on numerous occasions for work and leisure, I am definitely an authority on this topic. ... ... And I can say without a doubt that melbourne with its shithouse industrial bay, with its non existent national parks, with its lack of a beach, without mountains and lacking wildlife of any sort it is a flat dud landscape.

It's no wonder the people there attend to their sport. And that's great. There's also great museums and a decent live music scene thank god. There's nuttin else to do on the weekend in that shithole.

Please, now enjoy this tune which sums the city of melbourne up and a key reason for the crowds at the footy down in that shithole

I went there last yr ,food is good, some of the people are nice, alot are insular victaaard a,they remind you of Texans ,everything has to be bigger & better.
Inferiority complex, yep that place has it.
Also we'll set out & easy to get around, which helps ,but still surrounded by southern hicks.

Yes ur right there aflcrap. Some ok peeps there but a lot if racists, bogans and homophobes. It's just really southern and isolated so it's understandable ... But that doesn't mean they're something we should forgive. A pretty woeful culture

Melbourne named the world's friendliest city, Sydney fifth
Australia's 'capital of cool' has been voted most friendly in a survey undertaken by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

Melbourne tied first place for friendliest city with Auckland in the survey, where voters were able to take a number of factors into consideration, not just the demeanour of a city's people.

Those behind the annual Readers' Choice Survey said it was "no surprise readers adore Melbourne", which was commended for being one of the "classiest cities in the world".

Called "capital of cool" Melbourne was praised for boasting an abundance of amazing nightlife, food and hotels, but was also praised for its parks and "fabulous" public art, and its people's "wonderful sense of humour".

But you don't need to tell us that, right?

We Melburnians may be hip, but across the ditch in "clean, youthful, adventurous and beautiful" Auckland, resident Kiwis were not only commended for their friendliness, but for their sense of humour and their view of life that is "something to aspire to attain".

Readers also raved about the Kiwi's biggest city's clear air, fresh food and amazing culture. "Such a gorgeous city on the water", gushed one. Culture also rated highly in voter's estimations, and a trip to Auckland Museum for its Maori collections is "a must".

"The most beautiful large city in the world" Sydney, also fared well, taking out fifth spot for its "breathtaking" harbour and beaches. According to Conde Nast, its inhabitants are renowned for being "always so helpful", and "they love Americans!"

Loveable! I've heard media say Susan Boyle is loveable. Sorry bro it doesn't mean it's pretty.

The place is butt ugly fugly

Southern cross station is like a dark damp dank dirty greasy mechanics workshop. Uggggh. It's bloody filthy. Then some knobs decided they'll have their industrial centre smack bang outside their main station. It was disgusting getting the train towards williamstown watching the sun setting over industry. :-+

Plus the place has miserable weather which just makes it look grey and even more filthy. I guess going to the footy makes people forget about the shithole they live in, atleast for a few hours :)

Lived in Concord for ten years and can safely say Sydney is an absolute shit hole.Shit food, shit public transport, shit roads, shit stadiums, shit schools, shit hospitals but hey for a million people lucky enough to be jammed in to the east and north it's at least pretty.Standing on the shrine looking over Melbourne is one of the most inspiring sights in any city in the world. And I've lived in plenty.
