Lol, the AFL doesn't have a bastardised hybrid version of football. Touch football is completely different to rl. The fact that the nRL want to combine the 2 just so it can say more people play "rugby league" is pathetic, and proof that fuck all people play actual rugby league in this country. With these so called merger, we will only see more people deciding to take up touch and less playing actual rl. It's funny because in the past Dementedave said that participation numbers don't matter to a sports overall popularity, and he'd turn to soccer and say they have huge playing numbers but at the pro level it's still tiny.

Now all of a sudden when rugby league has to merge with a completely different sport (the pathetic sport that rl is) in an attempt to say "more people play rl", all of a sudden participation numbers do matter to the dunce?
