ah... that was Hay not Wagga .... d.ickhead

Wagga is a League town
with its softer girlier inhabitants wearing singlets & tight shorts
Also since when did having more names on a tipping board mean more support in the area............................... :-k :-k :-k :-k ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Fuck me dead next they will say more people in the area wear singlets in summer so its AFL heartland....
One would assume that "league heartland" would have a bit of a league culture and locals willing to compete in league based tipping competitions. Maybe people just don't care about the sport that much anymore?

NRL .. great embassadors of their code in the bush
   who are you trying to kid with this rubbish? It's well known that nRL has been struggling for some time in the bush. I've heard that they have almost half the amount of local league leagues that they had 20 years ago. And how does the nRL respond? A meaningless city v country game which no one gives a shit about and a shit team from Parramatta taking one game to Mudgee and that's it!
you've heard
because Phil the Dill told you ?..................

the bush is struggling fullstop
every sport there is has half the numb of teams it did 20 years ago you d head

wot the bush needs is an attitude like the nrl clubs in wagga did this year ..... come in , take nothing & every cent you make in profit
goes straight back to the game

wot they don't need is scum like the VFL owned midgets .... demanding to be paid to play .... & skipping town with rate payers money giving none to the game locally

shameful ... disgusting .. a disgrace
lets hope the media remind everyone in Wagga when these oxygen theives in orange arrive there .... of the furore this caused when it was first announced [-( [-( [-(

So pretty much anything that isn't SOO TV ratings isn't relevant as far as determining a code's popularity then? Tipping numbers, fantasy football numbers, memberships, attendances, participation, revenue, GF victory parades, it's all irrelevant to the support a code has in an area.

Also, here's a few more articles on footy in the bush (Riverina area) by a Leaguie.

This comment from the first link =D>
It is patently obvious that rugby league is loosing the war with the AFL for hearts and minds across the nation but before they start throwing stones at the AFL a close self examination might reveal a few home truths. #1: After 5 months still no NRL CEO selected, every person linked to the position has run a million mile's to distance themselves from it. #2: A commission chairman who has gone into full dictator mode, probably explaining point 1. #3:Just selected a career long self confessed drug user as a immortal of the game.#4: Fiddled with the rules to a point were there is hardly a objective decision left for refs to make with all rulings being subjective calls, then calling for the refs head each week when all these 50/50 calls don't go the way we want.#5: Chronic underinvestment in grass roots participation in the last 30 years to the point were if Indigenous and South Sea Island communties were to leave the game it would collapse as a participation sport, but strangely these communities are rarely included at the administration levels of League. I could go on but I think I may have made my point.

Les also seems to have forgotten that the NRL played trials in the Riverina in Albury in 2011 & Wagga in 2012
and also the VFL haven't played a game in Wagga in 15 years
& they've taken money off rate payers to do so on this occasion.... while the NRL didn't

he is a senile whining halfwit who doesn't know much about anything ....... end of
