So pretty much anything that isn't SOO TV ratings isn't relevant as far as determining a code's popularity then? Tipping numbers, fantasy football numbers, memberships, attendances, participation, revenue, GF victory parades, it's all irrelevant to the support a code has in an area.eelofwest wrote:Also since when did having more names on a tipping board mean more support in the area...............................Raiderdave wrote:Stewie wrote:There were more names on the AFL tipping chart in Wagga Wagga. It is patently obvious that rugby league is loosing the war with the AFL for hearts and minds across the nation but before they start throwing stones at the AFL a close self examination might reveal a few home truths. #1: After 5 months still no NRL CEO selected, every person linked to the position has run a million mile's to distance themselves from it. #2: A commission chairman who has gone into full dictator mode, probably explaining point 1. #3:Just selected a career long self confessed drug user as a immortal of the game.#4: Fiddled with the rules to a point were there is hardly a objective decision left for refs to make with all rulings being subjective calls, then calling for the refs head each week when all these 50/50 calls don't go the way we want.#5: Chronic underinvestment in grass roots participation in the last 30 years to the point were if Indigenous and South Sea Island communties were to leave the game it would collapse as a participation sport, but strangely these communities are rarely included at the administration levels of League. I could go on but I think I may have made my point.
