LOL, it must be why it's been mentioned at Bigfooty that the afl have laid out more money to advertise memberships than what they actually get back from this lot and the Giants in memberships lol.

leagueiscrap said its nothing but a minnow game over there, that runs of the popularity of union

Super League’s new £200m television deal.

Im not entirely sure how true that is for both. The Giants have spent more than they get back from memberships last year, but Gold Coasts accounts are a little vague on the expenditure side of things.

Wow, membership records broken. Well done GWS Giants :thumbleft:

GIANTS Smash Membership Record
GIANTS Media
Apr 17, 2019 7:30PM

The GIANTS have today broken their all time membership record, passing 25,000 members for the second consecutive year.

Currently sitting at 25,282 members, the membership tally is more than 3000 up on this same stage last year and 39 more than the 2018 total.

The milestone comes ahead of the GIANTS playing their first Premiership season match of the season in Canberra against Fremantle at UNSW Canberra Oval this Saturday.

GIANTS Chief Executive Officer David Matthews said today’s mark was a significant milestone in the club’s short history, with further growth ahead in the coming months.

“To achieve a membership record like this so early in the season is a wonderful achievement for a club in just our eighth season,” Mr Matthews said.

“Off the back of strong on-field performances and expanding our organisation to include an AFLW program and GIANTS Netball, we have developed strong connections with our local communities that have helped us grow quickly in one of the world’s most competitive sporting markets.

“We are proud of our loyal and passionate members and we look forward to this continuing to grow throughout 2019 as we head towards 30,000 members.”

"One in every 24 Australians is now a member of an AFL club, a sign that the national reach of Australian football has never been greater," League CEO Gillon McLachlan said.

Don’t the AFL audit the memberships Wookie? I think these figures rather then the club reported figures are a better indication for exactly the reason AFLcrap states.

G wiz! 30000 members, unbelievably incredible!

The Giants, setting their sights and looking at giving the Swans a run for their money as Sydney's most popular footy club.

And in doing so passing every single NRlilL club on its way, except Brisbane.

An expansion club, born but a hand full of years ago, in the dead centre of RL Heartland.

Go! The orange and charcoal....
Go! The Giants!

How's that pill swallow leaguers......? :D:

The thorn sinks ever deeper......

Yes but apparently Australian rules isn’t having any significant growth in Sydney..... despite all the new competitions, all the new players, all the new clubs, all the new players and all those new members ......

I expect the leaguers to roll out the usual dribble denouncing all things Giants. :puke:

Then we can sit back and literally laugh out loud thinking of the Giants thorn in their side that sinks ever deeper.
