Nope, $200,000 loss off a tiny $10m budget. Imagine what their loss would be if they had a real budget.Raiderdave wrote:Raiders in 2012Stewie wrote:Nah, your club loses money from a $10m budget.Raiderdave wrote:
sorta like we smash them .. & you lot when it comes to making money eh spewie ?
and anyway the midgets have half our members
& half our crowds ( when they aren't fudged )
the Thuns will continue their slide in support too
both well behind the Mighty Green Machine in 2013
The Giants have over 10k members, thousands more than the arse Raiders, while the Suns already ahead of the arse Raiders have over 9,000. =D>
61 Million turnover
3.4 Million profit =D> =D> =D>
combined losses of the midgets .. thuns & poort powerfailure in 2012
.... 15 million ?

The money borrowed to establish social clubs for 10 AFL clubs is 50M. They earn $80m per year.
Again Raiderdave struggles with basic economics!

Essendon finished a tumultuous pre-season cup campaign in style, hammering Greater Western Sydney on Friday by 91 points in Canberra.
The Bombers were simply too good for the Giants, winning 1.16.14 (119) to 0.4.4 (28) and lifting their cup campaign to two wins from four matches.

Shame the wanderers didnt win the GF. Oh what a farce of a league where a team can be artificially thrown together and win the comp in their first year!

There there poor baby, the wanderers have already been accepted into the fold of western Sydney clubs........shame the Midgets will never feel like a part of western sydney, especially now that they play in Canberra which is part of the greater western region surrounding parts of NSW team thingy..............Xman wrote:Shame the wanderers didnt win the GF. Hardly. The giants were always going to be a long term investment. RL is already established and self sustainable in this heartland. With the influx of immiigrants in the area soccer, the world sport, is bound to have a large supporter base. Tough going for the AFL. I still think their move to place the team in the inner west rather than in GWS was a very dumb move by the AFL. OR perhaps it was the naming of the team...? They could be called the 'inner western sydney giants' atleast then they'd round up a few of the chardonnay sippers of Sydneys inner west but now they're really in no mans land arent they?
The wanderers are yet another knife in the back of GWS.
Now they have to remove 2 knifes, one from the Wanderers and the other from the Swans winning the flag.... Big ask imo.
That is the thing people on this site do not seam to understand........RL and Soccer are two completely different sports that have co existed in western sydney since forever, RL and many of its fans actually will follow the wanderers, i have several mates that are eels fans going to these games.
The AFL and FFA are in direct competition in western sydney, RL has its place and will always coexist with Soccer.
Keep telling yourself these things they might come true - time, the AFL has plenty of it!

Re: Wanderers >>>>> the Midgits
Yeah it will just like the Swans 30 yrs on 35k members(more than any RL club) bigger crowds than RL - its going to be great - but you stick to the suburban RL comp called the NRL - 1 team melb 1 team NZ the rest in NSW and QLD. Its a joke national my arse! By the way Raiderdave heard the Raiders have got a lot of debt had to get a bail out from the social club - crowds are down and people are complaining that unless your an islander you WONT get into the NRL! Should rename it the Sydney islander rugby league comp or the SIRL - because you are a sirly lot!

this post is just all kinds of wrongParraEelsNRL wrote:Wanderers will do ok, but as has been shown before, the bubble in soccer usually lasts a few seasons before their own pop it themselves.
Wanderers will never be bigger than any of the West Sydney RL sides and anyone who thinks this is an a grade moron.
WSW played 3 games and already have a smaller average than the eels who came last and they have already got a lower crowd than what Parra did this year which happened to be against the storm on a Monday night while having a foot across our throats in last place. WSW have already played their biggest rival, the crowds will be all down from here.
I expect their average to be around 9k.
