Quolls you still compiling crowd data?
I got this year;
Rd 1 total attendance 0
Rd 2 total attendance 0
Rd 3 total attendance 0
Rd 4 total attendance 0
You get the picture..
Yes this year if things don’t go back to some kind of normality the NRL might actually win the crowd numbers. Just goes to show how sick the world really is at the moment.
I think the AFL is in front....and will stay there. (A lot of crowds are going unreported from all codes at the moment)
They have managed this crisis, in the longer term, better so far, despite the earlier criticism they copped.
And the Average crowds for 2020>
AFL 7746
NRL 5378
A-League 5757 (yeah, right)
Super Rugby 5055

At least the others got close, and A-League beat NRL….so much for the early bragging.

And the AFL have managed it better again this year……crowds in NSW this round, 0, 0, 0………and more to come.
But I don’t believe that crowds should count again for this year, luckily for A-League, Super Rugby..and maybe the NRL.

Here’s hoping for a normal 2022….I’m beginning to think maybe 2023!

The thing is the AFL crowd is substantially lower than typical average whereas the NRL no as much… this is a big reason why AFL feeling it more fonscislly I feel with crowds a substantial part of revenue.

i am pretty sure 2022 season will be back to the NORM> vaccinations are starting to lift in good numbers

yeah crowds cannot be counted for years 2020 and 2021
to many disruptions and games moved.

Like to think it will be over, but they UK and Israel are highly vaccinated countries, in summer, and their figures are out of control again. The olympics are not going to help, Japan 1,785 new cases and 22 new deaths yesterday, Israel 304 new cases after a long period of zero cases and the UK 24,885 new cases and 18 new deaths, freedom day may be postponed again.
I hope I am wrong.

Great crowd for Rnd 1. 20/11/21 A-League: Western Sydney Wanderers dr Sydney FC 23,118 CommBank Stadium

Others so far only ok?
Perth and Western United better than their pre-COVID average, so promising.

Not great. I really don't know why Ch 10 would put the Aleague on their main channel. The ratings will always be so low they're just surrendering the rest of the night to 9, 7 & the ABC.
